not exactly a thrift find, but still a good find --

my friend's mom was doing some spring cleaning and decided to get rid of the commodore 64 stuff they had

what I got:
3 c64 computers (2 working, 1 nonworking)
1 1541 disk drive
1 1541-II disk drive
1 Mitey Mo modem
1 printer interface (woo hoo! can hook up an epson to it!)
tons of software and hookups.

I'm going to be busy with this stuff for awhile. :)

Just picked up a CIB "Lazer Invasion" for NES for $3 (really nice box) and copies of Frogger and E.T. for 2600 for 50 cents each. Not a "haul" per se but nothing I'm unsatisfied with. :D

I found 2 tengen NES carts today, Rolling Thunder and Pac-Man (Licensed) for $1.99 each at my local Savers (They also had Super Mario/Duck hunt & Super Mario 3 but I didn't need those).

Kinda funny, they still have Atari 2600 carts for $5.99 each (Othelo, Backgammon, Tennis, Sky diver & Combat)

went down to the video game store at the end of my road again. I was hoping that perhaps they would have sensible prices (since last time they were getting a lot better) -- I was wrong. I was 'testing the waters' so to speak and asked how much atari games were going for. The lunatic behind the counter replied that they were anywhere from 5 to 15 bucks. This didn't sound too good. I said surely he wouldn't ask $5 for combat. He basically replied that surely, he would. D'oh. Needless to say, I didn't buy anything from them today.... :x

Finally had a good find, one of my local guys sells all his NES games for $2.99. Today I got Dragon Warrior 2 & 4 and Tengen Pac-Man (unlicensed black cart) for $2.99 each. All three are absolutely mint. Thing is, I hate RPG's, but I couldn't pass up a good buy. LOL

atariman, I don't collect games and 6 months ago I might have paid $5 for Combat. Unfortunately there are people out there that never heard of AtariAge and get ripped off every day.

well, I still get ripped off every once in awhile. I suppose if all you are looking for is a few of your old favorites, it isn't so bad... I dunno... well, at least you found AtariAge, and that's what counts. :D

as for my thrift find, I found an official "top gun" flight stick at GW the other day plus a SNES console. A mediocre find, but not disappointing. :)

I went to Blockbuster today (not my local) and they where selling their N64
stock :) So I finally got a few N64 games for a reasonable price.
Perfect Dark and Command and Conquer for AU$19.95 each :)
I almost got Pokemon Snap but I hate pokemon (and could only afford 2 games ;) )

Today was a bit weird. I found Saturn Hockey and College Basketball for $2 each (I'm not big into sports games, but anything Saturn is pretty hard to find around here).

Then I found a Mac color classic that was marked half off at $5. When I picked it up, it was rattling pretty badly. Since there was no back cover on the ports I looked inside, and four Atari Lynx games tipped out! $5 for four Lynx games and a Mac to carry them around in seemed like a deal, so I got:

California Games
STUN Runner
Electrocop
Blue Lightning (old style Lynx card)

I also picked up Jurassic Park for Game Gear for $4 - and I can't tell you why... :)

Now I've just got to see if I have an old Mac keyboard and mouse around here.

That IS weird!! My guess is that someone wanted both and hid them in the Mac so he/she could go back home for some more money. Good thing you got it out first!

That's my guess. The thrifts that I go to are part of a chain. Often when you find games for a system in one store, the system is another. When I hit a different shop today, they had the Lynx I in its pouch with a ComLynx cable for $35. A ridiculous price, I think, though I'd really like to get the pouch and cable someday.

Found what looks to be another NES joystick at the same thrift I found the NES Advantage controller at.

This joystick is called a Zinger and it's obviously for the NES...same style as the NES controller plug. It's got Quickfire buttons.

I dunno but it looks interesting to say the least. Only cost me $1.99.

Hmm, you probably won't be able to MAME with that set-up though - or if you can, don't emulate any games made after 1988 - and I wonder if z26 is going to be slow. I'm not trying to rain on your parade though, because that sounds like about US $50 for a really nice laptop that you can still do a lot of stuff with no matter what. :D

Trivial Pursuit on the SMS? That's gotta be a little nutty... I didn't even know that Klax came out for that system. Interesting that you mention finding a lot of of SMS stuff - the same is true here in Chicago. I've assembled a pretty nice little collection, but the prices vary wildly. Because they mostly come in those tidy boxes with full documentation, sometimes the thrifts want as much as $6. Fortunately it is more often just a buck or maybe two. Recently I found Ghostbusters, Rambo, and some other movie tie in carts for prices that low.

Too bad that they didn't do more with the 3D stuff... but I guess that's just me. :)

Saw one of these in Belmont this morning -- is that where you scored it?

All I picked up was a boxed NES Game Genie with code book.

Strangely Enough, It was In Karrinyup, Where I avoid because of the Shitty music played their. I live in Greenwood, so I mainly just stay around Warwick, where I snatch up all the good stuff.
