Okay, so I bought a SuperCharger cart a while back. So far, I haven't been able to do anything with it. It just flashes between a black & green screen.

What have I tried this on?
3 separate CV Module 1s on three separate Colecovisions. Nuttin'. Even took the plastic top shell off, thinking it was maybe a poor connection.

Also tried it on an Atari 5200 with Atari 2600 cart adapter. It does moreso a reliable green/black screen flashing. Still nuttin'.

Does this thing only work on a bona-fide Atari 2600?

I opened it up to look for any wayward wires. Couldn't find anything loose. Does anyone have pics/schematics on the wire & circuit board arrangement? I took photos a while back, and just haven't gotten around to uploading them. Batch uploading of pics on here is a bit cumbersome.

I would really like to use this thing, but so far I've not seen the "press play" screen on this thing.

Have you tried it in a real 2600?

do you have it hooked up to a tape or CD player? Would that affect it? I've never plugged just the Supercharger in, it has always been connected to my tape player.

I had it hooked up to a CD player, playing data in, but I'm not even getting to that point.Have not found a legit 2600 to try it on yet. They really made that audio plug much too thick. Considering soldering on a regular-size one.

If you are using a cd player, make sure the volume is turned all the way up, and if there is a bass boost function, make sure it is turned off. I had a similar problem as you, but after doing these two things, it worked perfectly fine for me.

The thing is, I'm not even getting to the instruction screen to tell you to hit play. It just gets stuck at the flashing green/black screen.

Gotcha. I misread your original post - I thought that you said that did get to the "press play" screen. My bad.

Wait, you can use the Supercharger with a CD player? How? I thought it was only for reading cassette tapes.

It can be used with any device that can play audio, you can even connect it directly to the sound output on a PC or MP3 player.

You just need to have a copy of the audio as it sounds on the tape. I'm sure someone can tell you where you can get these, including cartridge games adapted to load via the Supercharger.

Instead of modifying the plug on your SuperCharger, you might want to consider getting a stereo to mono adapter to use with it. You need that adapter anyway if you're using the SuperCharger with stereo equipment. See this.

For starters, doesnt mattter if you hook it up to a satellite, if you are not getting the press play scrren you probably have a bad supercharger.

I used to have a supercharger and cv/2600 adapter. I don't recall them being compatible though.

The first step is to try it on a real 2600. One step at a time.

I saw a Youtube video of it being used on the Gemini 2600 adapter thing.

ive had some adventures with the supercharger

i'm convinced radioshack carries this thing just for supercharger users

http://www.radioshac...oductId=2102690

ive only used my supercharger on a 6 switch and a jr works on both

ive never loaded a tape with it just wavs from a cd player from a cdr

The SuperCharger works fine with my CV Expansion Module #1. The cover needs to be removed so it connects fully then turn it on and the "rewind tape press play" screen appears.

I just tried it on a.....7800. Yeah, I know, not a bona-fide 2600 console. Wow this messed up module has really taken the tour of non-2600 but 2600-compatible hardware. Heh

I actually pulled the tracks from my Stella CD and have them on my iPhone now. It won't do MP3 rips, but uncompressed wav files seem to do the trick for me.
