Hi all,

I need the help of the masters in atari knowledge again.

I have the jaguar with this RF out that goes to a box:

and a LG TV with that RF input:

For some reason using a RCA cable from one to another is not working. I have a very long (5m) and hard body cable that I tough it would work but it doesn't.

Using an adapter in my tv for RCA to that screw rf does not work either.

The jaguar works in another tv I have that has the normal rf screw thing.

My atari 7800 have the same problem but it works, with a bad image but it works. So I think the problem is in the cable.

What kind of cable should I get ?

I'm ordering the AV composite RCA output cable from myatari but as everybody knows, Brazil custom sucks and I'll only get the cable in 1 or 2 months from now, so I want a cheap and accessible way to play my games until the AV cable arrives.

How can I hook them ?

Truth is though, you can use any old cable with decent results. I happen to have these really nice and long BNC video cables I received with an Amiga/Toaster setup once. Went to Rat Shack and purchase adapters that take the BNC and turned them to RCA. They're skinny, but are true 75ohm cables that professional use in video and ideally (if you're not doing S-video or composite that is), it's what you want. Do a search on ePay for BNC video to see the kinds of cables I'm talking about...

Jaguars are known to have poor RF quality (and RF isn't generally good to begin with). Using a composite video cable instead of a proper RF cable doesn't help, either.

Does your TV support composite video only ? If you've got a S-video input or a SCART input (even better), you should use them instead of composite, you'll get a better picture.

Good deal, composite video on the Jag is actually pretty decent, and worlds better than what you were seeing through RF.
