My wife, Daughter and I spent about a hour playing that in Vegas. It was the only time we ever saw it, so we tried to finish it , but we ran out of time. Congrats! Did you get a good deal?

That's fantastic. I never played the game personally but just having that in your rec room for a conversation piece is great. Gotta love the Simpsons

Got it today having a blast, only bad thing about this game is there no free play setting. I will have to rig up some type of switches or something. Right now we have to just use quarters to play.

I almost bought one of these in the last year, though I don't think it was a four-player version (may not have been in the original cabinet—can't remember). Then I realized that I didn't have anywhere to put it and that I would be moving.

Congratulations on your purchase! This was one of my favorites in the arcade, along with X-Men, Ninja Turtles, and D&D: Tower of Doom.

Well I just fix it up a bit more than what you see in the picture. It was in good condition, but when you see some of the before and after shots you will see what I did. I will probably do a YouTube video once everything is done.

Awesome purchase!

This cabinet is compatible with all the Konami beat em ups... uses the same harnesses for players 3 and four as the rest.

You can get TMNT, TMNT 2, X-Men, and possibly Roller Games, open up the cabinet, unplug the board, plug in the new game and you're off and running.

Oh nice would be cool if you could somehow put multiple boards inside and then have some type of switch to change games. Probably more work than its worth though.

I remember seeing this pop up at a place called Shep's Arcade shortly after it was released and thinking it was a bit of a strange take on the Simpsons IP.

I remember playing it a few times and thinking "is it just me, or is this basically the exact same game as TMNT?" I guess it pretty much is, with a different skin on it.

To be honest, these games haven't aged well with me. I mean, is it possible to get "good" at them? Admittedly, I haven't played them much but it seems to me that no matter how fiercely you mash your buttons, you're pretty much guaranteed to die within a short period of time. In fact, I notice a lot of games from the late 80's and early 90's are like that (Rampage is another prime example).

http://www.jammaboards.com has a 6 game jamma switch for arcade cabinets. :)

This will only work for the first two players. If you want all 4 to work, you have to move the player harnesses on players 3 and 4 to the game you want to play said 4 players with.

I've not been able to find anyone with switchers for months. This one isn't as nice as the ones using the ribbon cables. I'm on that guys waiting list.

Well you could say that most of the Konami beat 'em ups were similar games. However I liked them all.

I wanted this one because I am a Simpsons fan and this is IMO the best Simpsons game ever made. You could say "well thats not saying much", but I enjoy it.

Many games from the 80s and 90s were like that (especially in the arcades) because they were meant to make money. However, it is possible to get good at them. I am sure there are people who are really good at them. As for aging well...I disagree. These games are great games for playing for a short period or time or beating. Also these are great party games when you have more than 1 person playing at once.

I used to own a 4 player XMen along with a number of the other Konami boards, Simpsons included. What I found was when it was free play, it took most of the incentive to play it away. I think if it were me, I'd make the coin mechs work and limit yourself to x number of quarters before you have to start over. At least then, it will have a bit more of the true arcade feel.

I have the same issue with the Gauntlet machine I bought. The game is great, but when you can dial up as much life as you want it becomes little more than a grind to the end.

Yeah I agree it does take some of the incentive, that's why I try to challenge myself. I took my coin mechs off because it was annoying popping in quarters, however I challenge myself to see how far I can make it on a certain amount of credits or trying to complete game using less credits.

Yeah, I find this to be the case playing some of these games at home. With free play, there are no stakes, and something gets lost. Maybe that's why I find myself gravitating mostly towards the "pre continue" era games.

There are a few floating around on ebay for 750 dollars. Just type in "simpsons arcade". Even saw one 4 player.
