I was flipping through the channels when I came across the guy painting something, which led me to thinking about the painting thing with his name that was supposed to come out for the DS but never did. How far along was its development? Did it even get started? Just wondering.

OT, but I was thinking of that parody of Bob Ross on Family Guy (or maybe another painter) where Peter Griffin ended up painting that scene from the intro of Family Ties instead of what he was supposed to paint. The idea of a painting game on DS sounded interesting, but I was a bit skeptical of the game when I heard of it.

I remember discussing this in the Wii forum a long time ago.
There is a page on IGN, but it hasn't been updated in years...

http://wii.ign.com/o...821/821029.html

Not sure about a DS version.

I read about it at places like IGN and a page for DS came up when I did a search. The page even says why it hasn't come out.

When I first saw this I confused it with DEAL-A-MEAL for DS probably because Bob Ross' wig looks like Richard Simmonds.

Don't go dissing Mr. Happy Trees.

Maybe cause the guy is dead has something to do with it too. It would kinda like be making a Jacque Cousteau ocean exploring game.

When did I dis anybody? Both talented men in their field. I'm just syaing sometimes I think of Deal-A-Meal on the DS because of the similarities to Bob Ross.

Speaking of Mr. Happy Trees - years ago I saw a stand up comedian doing a parody. Bob Ross was painting a happy little jungle scene, and had a Vietnam flashback and went crazy :D He was stabbing the canvas, painting with "Agent Orange", "Jungle Green". I have been unable to find anyone else who knows about this, or can identify who it was. Sound familiar to anyone?

A buddy of mine saw that years ago and would quote it. It was roughly in the early to mid 1990s. I don't know where he saw it but he was a big fan of the MTV 1/2 Hour Comedy Hour maybe it was on there.

Check Youtube for Bob Ross outtakes - that might do it.

Thanks - at least I know I am not crazy or imagining it :)

Yeah - spent another few hours chasing dead ends. Seems to be one of those things that a lot of people remember, but no concrete details are out there.
