Hi guys, wondering if anyone has seen this before? I've got Soccer Kid running in a PAL Jaguar with output running through a Scart cable. The screen is repositioned up and to the left of where it should be. As a result I've got a couple of inches of black screen at the bottom with nothing but a volume label plus couple of sliders, and on the right hand of the screen there's a section of the display about an inch wide that flickers as the game fills in the level graphics, which presumably should also be offscreen. Has anyone seen this before? If so is it an issue with it being a PAL machine or with the usage of the Scart output? Due to the flakey connection on the motherboard I really don't want to pull the Scart connection out to test it if I can avoid it.

Strange... SCART itself shouldn't cause that kind of issues. Have you ever tried other PAL consoles on that TV ?

Hi there, yes it's an old CRT, I've never really had any problems before. The only reason I suspected it might be the scart was that Vampire Chronicles on the Dreamcast refused to play over scart and I'm fearful that if I try and remove it from the Jag to test I might break the motherboard connection as it looked very weak. I'll try and grab a picture later.

i once noticed the huge black border on a pal jag on ejagfest. seems like 50hz pal systems don't run accordingly with soccer kid.

Was it like these these pictures at all? I expect borders but it seemed weird the way some of the top is being cropped and stuff that shouldn't appear is on the screen. These were from a Pal machine through RF and Scart.

Looks like an NTSC game running with PAL timing to me.

If I remember correctly, those borders are "normal" on PAL machines. Just like the US version of Raiden had a big black border at the bottom. They just didn't take into account that PAL machines have more lines than NTSC.

The 50/60 Hz switch probably solves the border problem. But you need to connect the Jaguar to an RGB monitor or via RGB scart to a television. Older TV's probably don't accept a 60Hz signal via RF or composite video.
