I saw this on eBay, and it looks a bit odd. Its an auction for a Sears Atari 2600. The picture makes it look like there are 2 speakers built into the top of the console - like a classic Pong system. Was this normal for Sears 6-switchers? The system is nonfunctional.

"The original 1977 six switch consoles have openings in the top deck for two speakers! Obviously Atari nixed the built-in speakers and went with the sound through the TV speaker. So that is why the Atari 2600 has a "speaker grill" as its top!" -Rob Mitchell, some website

You might find the "what 2600 games are in stereo?" thread interesting.

Very normal. I see this version fairly often and probably more often than the Atari branded 6 switchers. Afaik it is usually referred to as a "Telegames 2600" or usually with some mention of the Telegames name along with Sears as a "Sears Tele-games 6er" or something like that.
