Anyone know where I can get hold of Sidplay-99 so I can run it on Classic99?

SIDPlay 99 is a commercial venture at the moment. Not real successful but none the less. It is available bundled with the SID Master 99 here...

http://www.dsapsc.com/store.html

Or currently on Ebay.

Ah right, I just wanted to play around with it in Classic99. It would be cool to see a 99 game using sid music or sound effects, do any exist?

Should be one come this November (provided everything works out.)

Great stuff, any info on the game? Have you shared your SidMaster programming knowledge with the 99ers on here so we can produce more stuff using the sid card and Classic99 emulator (Sidblaster emu) might be a good way to create interest in your card package if there's more software to use it.

The manual is available on line which contains most the info needed to program the SID chip. AFAIK SID interface emulation works on CL99 but the SID EMU mike is using seems to have some issues (not CL99 but the included SID emulator.) At any rate it's programmable. I have just about decided to post the .dsk that comes with the card on my site. I don't want to piss off the few that did purchase the card though.

The dropouts are most likely caused by the once-every-frame update method that Classic99's audio system uses at the moment. If you aren't doing anything faster than 60 updates per second it should be fine. (For instance, the sample programs in the C64 manual ported to XB sound fine).

I am tired of brushing the mold off the SID project so I have decided to make the software available for people to evaluate using CL99. It's available at DSAPSC.com under "free SID music." Also made some updates/postings to the site and expect to be able to post a new game demo before the faire. Enjoy me hearties arghhhhh....

Excellent news Marc, but there's no download link yet - now if Tursi can just re-enable the sid in Classic99 audio options in the latest version .. :D

Don't worry about that. By making the software available you increase the chances of people writing software to target the SID99, be it an emulated one or a real one. That's good news for SID99 owners like me!

My card has died :? The card itself appears to be working ok, just no sound. I suspect the SID chip itself, which I bought from FleeceBay... I'll probably buy another sid chip in the next week or so and give it a try. My card is in slot 1 (next to the PSU) - it does get quite hot in there... Perhaps I should move it to another slot...

Ouch. Try re seating the card a couple of times and /or changing it's location. Also clean the fire hose connection. That audio line path may be dirty/corroded somewhere.

Ooh! Good point, I'll give that a try, thanks!
