If you don't have the game, try our bonus challenge of the week in 1st post. :)
I'll handle the kick-off with 33,000

This shouldn't stand long, I'm terrible at this one.

I'm not too good at Battlezone either.
It helps to hit a few of those flying saucers.

I'll get back on this one tonight. Been a little preoccupied with A8 Kaboom lately ;)
Did get some C64 & Vic-20 action in though. :)
C64: 46,000
Vic-20: 91,000

Despite being the "lower" system, I'd really recommend the Vic-20 Atarisoft titles over the C64 counterparts. In this case, a good job was done on both.

Yeah, Atarisoft put out quality games.
It's a shame Coleco put out piss poor versions of DK and DK JR for the 2600 and Intellivision.  :x :(

With the exception of using different control setup for Pole Position, most of them were good and a few I liked better. The Galaxian is playable, but dumbed down unnecessarily. Robotron, though is a joke on the C= ports. Only redeeming factor was C64 supported 2 stick controls.

On real hardware was the Vic 20 Pole Position a paddle game?
I never played Vic Robotron, i can't get that one to start.
I like the C64 version of Robotron. I can do pretty good at it. :)

Might be a bad ROM? Vic Pole Position was a joystick game. That reminds me that I need another one of those... I consider the c64 Robotron more like a practice version since it has less than half the sprites onscreen.
A trick I can give you on Vic Battlezone is to aim just left of center as the shots track a little to the right on original equipment.

Nice Battlezone cart zylon  I need to get me one of those :)
I had a fair run thanks to a couple of flying saucers(which are bit tricky to shoot!):

The Vic Pole Position, the car seems to slide around alot.
I just had a quick go at it and got over 30k
Interesting that the track is the same color as the sky.
I finally got Vic Robotron to play.
It's a 2 part rom. They both need loaded up at the same time in the correct slots.
What a tough game. :o I think i had over 8k but the score went by so fast. :o
Is the Vic Robotron a 1 controller game?
Yeah, the C64 Robotron is real easy. I rolled the score on that one once. :)
Thanks for the tips!

I recalibrated my sights and took out a few more enemies. My strategy is basically hunt, shoot, and stay moving. If the enemy shoots straight at me, I drive toward the direction of fire, and under the path of the missile. This works about 80% of the time.
If I find a decent emu I may try the VIC-20 version. It looks like it may be fun :)

I use WinVice. I tried MESS, but i couldn't figure out how to get any games to load.
On WinVice select file, attach cartridge image, 4/8/16KB image at $6000, reset, soft
and your all set.

I'm getting better at Vic Robotron almost 10k
This game is tough.
I see the game does show the high scores again, just wait a bit.

Increased evasive tactics are starting to pay off! If you get far enough you'll run into a second smaller style of tank, which seem easier to hit. Keep taking out those flying saucers, as they're worth 5000 points a pop!

I've been just about ramming the saucers. ;) I've found that keeping the tanks a little to one side then moving forward to dodge shots works ok. Seems the enemy tanks turn much slower than yours.

^Looks like we might have a battle for 1st going on now^

Yep and here to stay... 5200 is a console I want to invest some time in,
I'm still pretty new to it.

Battlezone is interesting, will be working on improving my score.
