Well, good luck with it. It would be beneficial to have this situation defused. I think it's a case of too many irons in the fire.

My advice for anything in the future - take a leaf from Candle's book.
Develop as much as you want, but have one project, one run at a time in production. Limit runs to something that's acheiveable in a reaonable timeframe.

Better to disappoint 50 people who miss out on a limited production run but don't have any money at stake than to have a similar number getting frustrated because the delivery date keeps slipping on a large run.

NO MORE EXCUSES (of any kind).

Instead of shortening the lifespan of this PR disaster, all you are doing is making it LONGER and MORE PAINFUL.

My advice is to start working 16-18 hours a day, and ship EVERYTHING YOU OWE US (for months) ASAP. Otherwise, things are going to get REALLY ugly, here.

At least you can't say you have not been warned (sufficiently).

I am waiting patiently for my SIDE :)

ATM I am playing with my OpenPandora console which arrive some days ago. I waited more the 1300 days for it. :o
To refund was never an option, as I waited 2 years fro my CT60 (at least I think it was that long) so I had (and still have) faith in the guys who offer such things.

During these 3.6 years of waiting for the Pandora, one think was clearly visible: as long as updates from the developers (even bad ones) came there was no discussion. When they were silent for some months then there was almost as bad a rage as in this thread. In my opinion a weekly or biweekly (short) post a la
"Build 10 SIDEs last week",
"was ill in bed 5 days",
"was moving to France, will pick up production in three weeks",

... would have calmed most people here.

However, if someone is building SIDEs as well, I am ordering a 2nd one :)

Lastly, some guys have taken it a bit too far in this thread. Really!

I didn't order one but reply anyways...

I don't think you've followed the whole thread. It's not the waiting people are pissed about. It's about all the broken promises.

He's posting a message over here he's been very busy and no time to finish the boards. Then, 10 minutes later, on another forum, he's announcing he'll take new orders for yet another project. What about the first project people paid for and are still waiting for? He seems very short of memory.

2 Weeks later he announces yet another new project, while the first one is still not finished.

He promises to finish the boards and send them "this monday". It just never happens. How could he? He hadn't had the time to finish the boards at all as he was working on 2 other projects.

It's not that this is an unfinished design that needs debugging and updating. It's a proven concept.

To top it of he states he was "bankrupt". To me that means he has spent the pre-paid money on other things, which is a "not done" in my book.

Didn't came across one yet that goes too far. In fact, I'd go much further if I did order one myself.

I wouldn't mind the long wait were it not for the fact that I was one of the 1st ten to pre-order this to finance it. Since then, people ordered and then received units in just a few weeks time. Some were also sold via Ebay while I patiently waited. If it had been stated at the beginning that there would be a long lead time, everything would be fine. But to do these out of order sales as well as introducing new projects is somewhat frustrating.

In the grand scheme of things it is no big deal as this is just a hobby. But to not say anything is not doing anyone any favours. I agree that some of the posters are getting a bit over the top, but this is just not an acceptable way of conducting business.

...Precisely the point.

The time for contemplating "sleeping beauties" and nurturing "collective commiseration" is over... It has never worked, and it will never work. After all that has transpired (as seen on this very same thread), only a fool would believe the opposite.

To me, Zaxon is fired. He got himself into that position, and for TOO long. Time for someone to deliver the bacon (for REAL).

Sorry to hear about your troubles Zaxon. Looking forward to the 2nd SIDE. I've been playing around with the 1st one I ordered (thanks) and it IS pretty damned cool. Great product ... very useful.

Hang in there, man. This can all be resolved eventually.

I believe that someone would be stretching his hands to where it reaches. It's awful not you respect other people's efforts. (Money)

I appreciate that Zaxon has stopped by for an update. Though I am still waiting for a reply to at least one of my emails, PM, or google checkout messages.

I don't think that I am asking too much.

Let's see, Zaxon, you said you've done and sent 129 SIDE units so far? Well, don't get me wrong, but there's people here waiting for almost a year so far, if you were able to deliver 129 units you could have sent the units we ordered from you.

I'm not sure about your situation, if you had a bad time, if you just gathered too many orders so you don't have the time to deliver them... It really doesn't matter, we all hope your economical situation gets better, but remember, your part on the deal was to deliver the units. And it's been a really long time.

So, it's time to get serious Zaxon. Deliver the units and close this thread. Otherwise will really drain down your reputation for future projects.
And that would be a pity, for YOU and for US, because we know you're an skilled technician.

So, time to put your hands on this, and deliver all the units here. No more delays.

Cheers.
