Recently my family got a new TV for the living room (replacing one of those TVs that are literally a piece of furniture) its a Dynex 40 inch I dunno much about it... it was just cheap and wasn't this giant monster. However its not detecting my Jaguar (when plugged in to the AV/Component ) yet it detects every other console with AV I have. It also detects my VCR, and I can play my jaguar can play through the VCR, but my VCR has some problems with it as well... Any ideas why its not detecting the Jaguar? and how to solve it?

Furthermore... remember how VCRs always had multi AV ins? but DVD players, cable boxes, and BluRay players don't, anyone know of a cheap kind of device that could do this? I dont care if i have to press a button, or switch, it beats having to move the TV just to change consoles.

Thanks for any help :)

*Edit* A Dynex 24 inch detects the Jaguar just fine.

I've had trouble with some modern TV's not liking the non-standard way the Jaguar (and most older consoles) produce video.

A standard TV signal is interlaced, first all the odd numbered lines are sent (1, 3, 5, etc) and then the remaining even numbered lines are sent. It's a way they could get away with only updating 25 or 30 times a second but make it look like 50 or 60.

The Jaguar (and most earlier consoles) only ever outputs half the lines, then outputs the same lines again... some modern high-def TV's can't cope with that and give up.

Try running one of the Jagware High-Res demos and see if that displays properly.
