I'm thinking about buying a 60GB PS3, but one of the main reasons would be to play PS2 games on my HDTV. I haven't read anything about it before, so how do they look? Is it the same as hooking my PS2 up to my TV, or do they look better?

Thanks,

Chris

Depends on your video cables. PS1 looks pretty good through HDMI to a nice LCD. Mine doesn't support PS2, though, so I can't help you there.
I've always thought that PS2 looked best through RF, actually. Such an ugly system. If there were a video spec called "Low-Def" like they have for "HD", the PS2 wouldn't even qualify.

You know, I have a 60GB PS3 (well, 120GB now, but it's PS2-compatible) and it's been so long since I played a PS2 game in it, I can't even remember. I'll throw one in tonight and see how it looks.

I have a 60GB hooked up to an 1080p display using HDMI. PS2 games look great. There are a couple of options you can pick for scaling. On the "full screen" scaling mode, the image is a somewhat softened by the upscaling, and there's still a small border around the display. However, it's nicer than my PS2 looks connected via component cables to the same display.

That's exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks.

Chris
