I got a Lynx a few months ago for cheap and it doesn't work very well. The only game I have, Gates of Zendocon, powers up and plays its music just fine, but the graphics are scrambled. I don't know if this is because I'm using a non-Atari power supply that conforms to its power standard, or maybe it needs a disassembly and cleaning, but I figured I would ask. I believe it does the same thing when I put batteries in as well.

As the game contains a checksum, it can not be dirty contacts. For the PSU there is no big problem, you can use nearly any Voltage between 9-12V.
