Jaguar HSC Revamped, SEASON 2, ROUND 9:

DOOM



Round Over.

RULES AND DIRECTIONS:

DOOM rates your percentage of kills, items, and secrets found. In this round, you will need to select a game mode of SINGLE (single player), area of 3 (map 3), with the difficulty set to ULTRA VIOLENCE. The game will display each of your percentages when finished with the level--write each of these down and submit them here. Each will be added up, with a total of 300% being possible (100% for each category). Unlike other rounds we have played, everyone has the potential to score the full 100 ranking points this round!

Please note these stipulations:

- You are not allowed to start a new game from map 1 and play up to map 3--You must start the game from this specific map, starting with only your pistol in-hand.

- If you do not have map 3 available, it means you have not played up to that point (the game unlocks each level permenantly after you reach it for later access). In this case, you will need to unlock the level in the standard fashion then reset the game and start fresh on map 3.

If you are not familiar with the Jaguar HSC general rules and how the scoring system works, please visit this thread here: http://www.atariage....on-2-schedule/. It is recommended that you take a photo of your score, but it is not required. We go on good faith here, so please be honest..

You could just play the level on the settings you had, add up 33% of kills + 33% of items + 33% of secrets + 1 free point! That way you have to earn your 100 points

Yeah, I actually came back to edit that last post.. Instead of giving out free points, I will change the rules instead.

That looks like a good challenge. The extra points are a nice bonus and a good incentive to finish with high percentages.

You must not have played DOOM on Jaguar. You can pick whatever level you want right from the beginning.

I think I am going to have to reword it. The top-scoring player will still get 100 points for the rankings.

No, I've certainly played Jag DOOM.. a lot.. (I'm still kind of embarrassed that I didn't realize it didn't track map times).. I am pretty sure the game unlocks the stages as you complete them and saves it to the cartridge. After that, you can pick any stage you want.

There is a bit in the instruction manual that informs you on how to perform the data reset function. It states that it tracks various settings (music and sound), including "the last level you completed".

I started out playing this level on Nightmare and, well, that just wasn't going to happen starting out with only the pistol. Good thing I re-read this thread because I was about to go without submitting a score.
