So a few months ago I bought a new copy of KA Air Cars and I was gonna open it up and play it but then I noticed that my copy is 87*/100 so apparently they only made 100 of them?

Since I collect video games I figured my new copy would be worth something down the line for rarity sake...so my question is would it be worth buying another new copy as a playable one? Or would it not be worth anything down the line and just play my current copy?

Since we're talking about Air Cars, I'd say go ahead and purchase another and play it the way it is meant to be played.

I would not purchase another thinking of it as an investment of any kind. Just play and enjoy it. :)

Only 50 out of the 100 copies of Aircars KA were sealed, the other 50 were not sealed and there are no plans on another run, i believe there are less than 20 copies total left. Hope that helps "JAGUAR RULES!"

Surely the only KA aircars that will be with anything are the 4 or 5 with the original label?? Although not as much as before the team jaguar release!

Hey there guy, don't talk shit to someone if you don't know what you are talking about. The last known sale of an original Aircars KA went for $500. What part of "there are only 5 copies in the world" don't you get? There are only a handful of video games in the world that boast that kind of rarity...

I bet the last one that allegedly sold for $500 was *before* these new carts were produced. ;)

Metrics aside, I sometimes forget the gouging mentality some still have here. My apologies if you paid that or are taking a hit just to get out from under your investment.

Kevincal does have a make offer button on the auction so maybe he'd take $350.

Probably not but you never know. I think he has had it up for auction for quite a while now.

It would have to get below $300 before I become even a little interested.

I would take $350

And for a game as rare as this, this price is NOTHING. Just look at Nintendo or Sega or PlayStation games etc. There are a handful of games for those systems that boast similar rarity, copies numbering below 50, and they sell for THOUSANDS of dollars...

I wouldnt budge $5 MORE than the already reduced price I was offering you...........

I laugh at people like you who are quick to complain and bitch about sellers and their prices, yet it's lowballing buyers like you who are much more common and annoying.

Guys like you expect guys like me to give the best deals possible all the time, as if we are freaking walmart or something...

At least walmart know when to lower prices ROFLMAO.

This is the thing I hate about the Jaguar is that peps think it's worth more than it is.

When a professional appraising happends and when they look for ""Vaule"" of an item look for 3 main features.

1.Condition of the item and if it comes complete.

2. Histrory or culture impact.

3.rarity

There are only really three gamess that come to mind right now and one console.

1.Night trap/Sega CD along with Mortal Kombat and more. These game lead in to creating the ESRB that is still being used today.

2. Siphon filter 2 /PS1 There are only 3-5 known copies of the orgianl game. The reason for this is Sony was going to release it on 9/11 but we know what happend and the orgianls where distoryed due to you flying a 747 in to a building.

3. Atari Jaguar and Jag CD add on. not only is this the last system to be made by Atari but it was the last video game system to be made in the U.S.A.

As anyone can see these games do have History and "Vaule"behind them and they. They all have a U.S.A historic impact and the Video game culture impact to them. All 3 of the games makes the make on the 3 things Apprasier's look for.
Since most Video games dont have any Historic/Culture impact they dont have much ""Vaule"" is KA Air cars Rare yes but isnt worth more than $100 since it dosent have a a historic impact and did have a re-release.

This is what I hate anymore is people cant justify the prices that they sell crap for. The Jaguar system alone should be worth more than any video game released on it to to its actrual historic infulence.

Most "" video game experts" don't know Sh*t about what stuff is worth.

ya ok mr expert above, I have been in the Jag scene since the mid 90's while you seem to have just swooped in from no where with your stuff above...

The truth is the last copy of orginal ka aircars sold for $500 and the person who bought it did the re-release of the game to recoup losses. It sucks for the other 4 guys with this game lol but it doesnt take away from the rarity OF THE ORIGINAL. Sure, since the re-release was just done, it takes some value away from the original. But thats only cus the re release was just released, in another year or 2 when you can't even find the re-release to buy, the value of the original will be back to where it should be.

In the NES community people have done re releases of stadium events and Nintendo world championship, yet the ORIGINALS still sell for thousands. Copies and fakes of any product never have the same value to collectors in the long run, people love original rare products, not fakes, copies, homemade stuff... Look at classic cars for a perfect example. The hardcore collectos want bone stock original stuff with no aftermarket or re made stuff on it and they pay big bucks for that.

The Jaguar is only growing in popularity these days and Air Cars KA ORIGINAL is the second most rare game for the system behind Battlesphere TRIO which hardly anyone knows about because there is only 1 copy in existence that sold for thousands on ebay years ago. ;)

I'm not douting the fact that acouple sold for $500 or $5mil or $1bil. The "truth" is that because something is rare dosen't mean its worth anything. Other than a System that made mostly crappy games made a limted number of copies of yet another crappy game? Where the historic or culture influnce of it? Thats why its not worth anything it terms of ture "Vaule". Your saying its worth $350 so try and than sell me it? give me 10 reason why I should buy this game? I'm not asking much from you no more than I would ask a used car sales man.

Look at Rayman it dosent fit under the any of the guidlines stated above and it was released on how many systems so please justify why I should buy this port? When I can own the ps1 version for $1.99? give me ten reason I should buy this game for the jagur and I'll buy it from you

"O"yeah also the PAL version staduim Events isn't worth crap.

Battleshpere has a historic a culture impact

1. was supposed to be released for the Jaguar life cycle but never was it was released after the Jaguar was dead.

2. The profits from the game went to cancer foundation.

You'd have to be nuts to pay $350 for KA Aircars, in fact, there's a reproduction on eBay now for $65.

I can understand somebody dropping $500 on an original if they're going to do a release - heck, they get a rare item and recoup their initial investment - but there's no incentive to go any way near that price now.

Investment has different meanings in finance and economics. In Finance investment is putting money into something with the expectation of gain, that upon thorough analysis, has a high degree of security of principle, as well as security of return, within an expected period of time.[1] In contrast putting money into something with an expectation of gain without thorough analysis, without security of principal, and without security of return is speculation or gambling.Wiki

Most people buy games for fun and to be played. Most gamers are kids/teens. So this is not a investment market so this is gambling? since there is no security of returned funds.

Besides it being rare though why would an common person drop $300+ on a Jaguar game? With out meaning besides its rare?.

If you saw KA air cars and Battleshpere and Radain setting next to eachother KA cars for $350 and battleshpere for $500 and Radian for $30 what would you buy?

sh3-rg's right - none of the above.

I'd walk away from those "deals" and find KA Aircars for $65, Battlesphere for $200 or less (been there, done that twice) and Raiden for $20 or less. But that's the Wal-Mart shopper in me. Wait a sec, I *hate* Wal-Mart!

Kevincal: Do you think the KA Air Cars that team Jaguar released would be worth anything down the line? Since they only made 100 copies?
