I am just about positive no gun works with any other system without some type of modification.

Is that Blue gun for the Genesis? If so then no. You can mod a Master System or Saturn gun though.

None of the Sega guns work for the Atari out of the box. With a little mod the SMS gun works with the Atari. The Genesis, Saturn, ect. guns would all need more work than they are worth to work on the Atari. You pretty much have to repopulate the whole PCB and replace the LED so all that would be left is the shell of the donor gun.

I had no problem modding a Saturn gun, just needed to replace the cable. Genesis guns are a different story.

I just got my first SMS gun in the mail today. Does anyone know of a wiring schematic somewhere on the web for making an adapter for the 7800 console?

On the Saturn controller connector:
Pin 1 +5v
Pin 4 Sensor
Pin 6 trigger
Pins 2, 3 and 9 are ground (take your pick)

Trace them out to the circuit board inside the gun and solder in the Atari wire.
