Mr. Do's Castle was and is one of my favorite arcade games. It was so different than the original Mr. Do that came out before it.

Which Mr. Do do your prefer best?

1 Mr. Do!
2 Mr. Do's Castle
3 Mr. Do's Wild Ride
4 Do! Run Run

Welcome to AA!

I prefer the original Mr.Do! over the others, but Mr.Do's Castle is pretty good, too.

In order, for me:
1. Mr. Do!-- awesome, easily my favorite of the series. If there was a method to getting the free credit diamond it would be even better (it's totally random). A true classic in every way.
2. Do! Run Run-- Pretty good, with the Qix/Libble Rabble/whatever method of drawing over an area thrown in. Lots of fun.
3. Mr. Do!'s Castle-- A bit hard for me, and it seems I can't crush a monster on a block half the time; they often back away as I swing the hammer. Not bad, but I can't entirely get the hang of it. It's better as a maze game than a platform one.
4. Neo Mr. Do!-- Bigger, better graphics with some power-ups, but really doesn't float my boat that much. Similar to the original but kinda weak. I do like the animated cut-scenes though.
5. Mr. Do!'s Wild Ride-- TOTALLY out of place with the series. No monsters, no weapons? Lame!

By the way, good to see ya again MAMECADE. Liking your videos!

Thanks, I guess I like Do2 better because I'm basically a better at it than Do1.

You just hit the "Add Reply" button and then the "insert media" button on the next page. Paste the URL from the YouTube video you made in the window and erase the first http:// that you see (it makes 2 of them). Then click the "add reply" button.
BTW, you may know me as Crazyclimber80 on Youtube. Got some videos myself but not as good as yours. I do mostly obscure arcade videos but I hate my voice on the mic.

Easy for me - the original Mr. Do! Actually Mr Do's Castle is the only other one I played. I loved the original enough to convince a friend that we should ride our bikes about fifteen miles to the Jantzen Beach Mall arcade to play it, along with other games of course. I played a lot of Crystal Castles there also. Morgan

Ahhhh, yes I do know you and your work. The quality of your mic will also help.

Thanks for the help, I think I've got it now. I'm debating if I show review all the other Mr. Do games.

Hey, it's the Mamecade guy!

Right now I only have Mr. Do and Mr. Do's Castle, and only heard of Wild Ride, so I'll just do those:

  • Mr. Do's Castle: for some reason I like this one better. Probably because I do better on it than the other one.
  • Mr. Do: still like this one better than Dig Dug, thanks to that long-range gun.
  • Wild Ride: from youtube, this looks way too confusing. and difficult.

Still managing to keep up with Mamecade updates...you should seriously have a whole theme song based off of that intro tune.

I remember Mr Do's Castle, as a kid the game would hand me my ass, it still does today. As for which Do I like best, Do Run Run, Mr. Do, Mr. Do's Castle, and I'm alright with Wild Ride, and find Neo Mr. Do kinda funky.

I used to withhold my milk money at lunch at school, walk casually through the lunch line at work, and pop the quarter I was supposed to use to pay for the milk to play Mr. Do's Castle when I got to my mom's work after school. Those were the days!

I always liked Mr. Do's Castle over the other games in the series. I owned it for the 2600 and got lots of play out of it - even after my brother warped the cartridge.

Mr. Do's Castle was similar to Universal's earlier game Space Panic.

Do I remember Mr. Do!'s Castle?

Nope, no I don't. Well, not since first discovering it was a crappy game for the Atari 2600 back in the mid 90's! Had no idea what was going on or what to do after over-paying for it because I was in collectors mode back then. Shortly after that, learned it was an equally crappy arcade game.

Your great review however, tempts me to give it another try, but only because it happens to be included on the 60-in-1. :)
