Just thought I'd share a couple of mp3's I made.
I now have the Alternate Reality theme play whenever I get a call :-)

Alternate Reality
Ballblazer

Anyone else have a tune from an old game as a ringtone?

Thank you!

I remember someone in the past posted various .mp3 to be used as ringtones.

I used to have a section of "Panther" from Mastertronic as my ring-tone.

I used to have the death cry from Space Harrier as my message tone.

It was fine until I was at a house party in the early hours of one sunday morning and some people there were... shall we say 'a bit detatched from reality via chemical means' and someone sent me a message, which really freaked them out.

Shouldn't need quicktime at all...I made sure they were mp3's. Infact, I didn't use quicktime itself at any point to create the files.

There are free programs like MPTrim (www.mptrim.com) that will let you trim the size of an mp3 with fade-ins and fade-outs. You however will have to decide what portion of the song you want as your ringtone.

Oh, I know that... I was just talking about ease of downloading and using it right away.

I just create my own with Audacity and an emulator ;-)

I prefer midi music as ring tones instead of .mp3 (especially on old phones). I use the Pacman tune for incoming messages and Outrun for incoming calls.

Here a .zip file with various midi versions of classic computer game music I collected with for example Boulder Dash, Ninja, Last Ninja, Pacman, Ms. Pacman, Wings of Death, Outrun, Moon Patrol, MULE, Sanxion, Commando and more.
