This is my first post here at AA, and my first time with a 7800. I've got a decent 2600 and 5200 collection already, but I figured I'd go ahead and snag a 7800 to complete the set.

Got it for $16 off of ebay with 2 joysticks and 3 games. Here's what she looked like out of the box...

As soon as I unboxed it, I noticed the power switch was sticky. Figured I'd pull it down and investigate. Sure enough it looks like soda or something was spilled in the unit. Time to clean her up.

I went to work with the normal console cleaning tools: q-tips, warm soapy water, toothbrush, and paper towels. I also used an old trick to clean the rust off of the board... tub and tile cleaner. Little scrubbing with q-tips and cleaner got pretty much all of the rust stains off of the board.

Pulled all of the buttons and gave the case a good cleaning with soapy water and the tooth brush. Also cleaned the RF sheild up as well as I could, then re-assembled everything. Plugged everything in and she fired up first try!

Now to find some 7800 control pads and put these handcrammps called joysticks on the shelf.
