Pretty much like the topic title says, my Jaguar CD no longer spins discs. Nothing catastrophic happened to it, it wasn't being overused, or really, used that much at all. One day, went to fire it up, nothing. Checked to make sure the head wasn't popped down and all that, and still nothing. It turns on, still acts as a pass-through for cartridge games, so I know it's otherwise working.

Any ideas, or is it time to replace it?

I would pop the spindle up even if you feel it hasn't been pushed down. I thought mine was good, but when I moved it up a fraction I was back in business.

Yeah, I tried popping the spindle up a bit. No dice, sadly. I'm not at home right now, but the next time I have a chance, I'll see about following that repair sheet, and I'll post back what sort of results I get.

There is a good chance that replacing the laser transport will fix it. I've only heard of a handful of players that could not be fixed that way

Before spending any cash open it up. I have seen ones that have cut through their own spindle motor power wires (gotta love the crappy build quality ) If so you could be back in business with a bit of TLC, solder and some insulation tape
