Hi Atari fans
I created this account because i have a few questions about a Lynx I bought in a flea market in France (where i live), in the beginning of 2009.
It works, but the game Poker (which after researches was this one: http://www.atariage....e-available-now ) is screwed to it by an iron plate.

When i bought it, i was really happy to get my hands on a Lynx, but i didn't pay more attention to it because i didn't buy games for it.
While i was searching a game in my house a few days ago, i found my lynx but this time i made searches which made me come here (i already knew this huge database site),
and found out several things about my console (which at first i thought it was a kinda test console), which led me to these questions:

-As i already said, i bought mine in the beginning of 2009, but in the topic i mentionned it seems like this game has been released in 2011, so what is the real release date for this game (/homebrew)?
-Also, i already saw the same kind of lynx in this forum, with the poker game screwed to it with an iron plate, but with different names on the rom, and with the hole of the rom not covered (mine is covered by a sticker). Where do they come from?
-I didn't try to put out the cartridge because i didn't want to break it, can you tell me how to do it without injuring the cartridge?

Thanks :)

Wow, that's a freaky way to run a casino.

Anyway, will the cart board slide out? It's a cart board, it ought to come right out. Can you look into it with a flashlight, see if the board is soldered onto the slot? That would be my only worry.

Neat find, I've never seen a cart embedded quite like that before. Dedicated device for a bar? Gaming use, for real gambling?

The cartridge doesn't slide out the console, it's in the slot, but until now i never looked with a light between the cartridge and the console, which i did now, and i think thecartridge is soldered to the console,by a screw that i can nearly not see. After seeing this, i tried to pull the cartridge off in the gentliest way, and when doing so the up of the console (on the back side) was a little bit moving with it, so i stopped trying right away.
I will make pictures soon of this so you can see.

If you mean it keeps the cartridge in the console, I already knew it :)
If not, i didn't understand because of my comprehension on the way english is spoken ;)

I think I understand. You think the cart board is screwed down inside the Lynx. Okay. Can you take off the back cover and try to 'uninstall' the game that way? If you're not really good with smallish electronics (I know it's a Lynx and all) then don't try it. I'm a tech so I would do it.

Yes! We here at Atariage, see, we find ways of making stuff work the way we want it to. Personally if something refuses to work the way I want it to, I tend to teach it how to kickbox. Lately they have all been fast learners.

I just picked up the one off of ebay... it has a battery installed.
This is a bit strange. Nothing about this poker cart until very recently (the one found in 2010). Now 3 of them have showed up.
I don't expect much more out of the one that I have being shipped to me, but I figured it would be fun to own.

Now if I can buy the console too... that would be great!

I can explain these Really quick.

What you have is a Atari lynx Demo model it was designed to be used in stores to sell the atari lynx several versions have appeared one with poker strapped to it one with S.T.U.N Gunner screwed into it there have been several the idea of these devices where simple when showing off the device at gaming conferences or at stores they didn't want stores selling display models so they rigged the display models to one cartridge for the reason of not being able to steal the lynx and use it as a normal console i would hold on to it because they are rare and a piece of history.

So...i got the cart, with the battery backup. Then i talked to the guy an got the metal plate and screws that covered the cart. I am shocked that he kept them. but now I am in talks with the guy he sold the Lynx to. I am hoping to piece this one back together! i wonder if it has a key lockout like Rygar's version.
