I just got this in yesterday to my arcade (if you or anyone you know is in Utah, stop by and play!) and I documented the setup here:

It's a great game, really shines with four players though. I haven't decided yet if I should keep it at 5 rounds or crank it up to 9.

I absolutely adored Pac-Man Championship Edition DX on PS3 last year (still do), which kind of re-ignited my interest in the Pac-Man brand. When I heard of Battle Royale I got really excited but haven't been able to locate a machine anywhere near me. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the game gets released on Playstation Network for download (they'd be insane not to do it, as online matches would rock). I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that such a release will be my only hope of ever playing this game.

Have you checked out Namco's location finder to see if a machine is near you?

There is a machine in Mississauga, ON, not sure how far that is from you. But this map only shows locations that have bothered to tell Namco about where they are, and not every place has done that for some reason.

Yeah, after shipping and taxes it was close to $5k. Cheaper than most new arcade games these days.

I wish we had arcades around here that AREN'T Chuck E Cheese's. But, still that looks sweet. I assume it plays a lot like Pac Man Vs. for the GameCube? I will say though. I wish that Pac Man Championship Edition had an arcade version....

Battle Royale is essentially a special mode for Championship Edition. The graphics are the same, the maze changing is the same it just differs in how it plays thanks to the VS. element

So one player is Pac-Man and the other three are ghosts and when one catches Pac-Man, that player becomes Pac-Man?

I just played this today at Icheg!
All 4 players control a Pacman, each is a different color.

The 4 players race around the maze, eating dots & spawning a fruit which shifts the maze ala Pacman CE (and DX)

Colliding with another Pacman (non energized) causes both to bounce backwards (can be a useful strategy to send an opponent into a ghost).

If a player eats an energizer, they can eat a ghost (like normal Pacman) or eat another, non-energized Pacman.
If a Pacman gets eaten by another player, or by a ghost, their turn is over and they have to wait for the next round.

A round continues until only 1 Pac is left standing.
A normal game is 5 rounds.
