I recently became acquainted with the game Azarian (pretty cool Bosconian clone) for the ST. I attempted to play it on my Mega 4 with no luck. I tried it on STeem and had the same issues with hanging until I lowered the system memory to 1 meg.

My question is, are there other games that will not run with 1+ meg of memory? I don't recall having any issues at all until this game.

I've been out of the scene for too many years to know much (just got back into) but I think there's a program called "make1meg" that will do exactly that - make your machine appear to have 1MB RAM. Perhaps it was created for such software?

Lots of things won't work with 4mb, this is usually caused by the coder putting the display buffer for the screen right at the top end of memory, and then writing beyond the end of it.

On anything below 4mb this works, the writes just don't do anything. On 4mb, however, you will get an exception (bombs).
