I say it, not a bad price compared to what a boxed unit is going for on Ebay. I had found one at a local store for 75 dollars plus 3 games. Tennis, baseball, and Wario land. Ended up passing it up.

That was fun.

$80, eh? I should have bought up a bunch of these when the stores were pretty much giving them away.

I think I paid $75 for mine that came with 5 games, one of which was Wario Land. I forget the other four, though. This was a little over 3 years ago.

No problem. I think it's a very fair price especially considering his is broken. Look at those missing lines.

Does anyone know if there is any truth to his story about there being a shipment of 500 brand new Virtual Boys found recently?

Yes and no, there were some brand new virtual boys found, only it was nowhere near that many(only 100) and they were in Dubai, so they in all likely hood impacted the market very little, I've only seen a handful of brand new ones on ebay before and most of those were relists and never from the middle east so I'm guessing those aren't the ones that were found. :P

edit

oh and they weren't found recently either, it was several years before that episode aired, 2008 if I remember correctly.

Yeah I did see that one. I was surprised he only took $80.00 for it. I would have at least tried for $100.00. In the box and in fairly good condition I would think he could get more for it especially on eBay.

It was broken as you can see by those lines on mario. I would have just cut my losses as well and taken the highest price they would offer as well.

Thanks guys. When I originally watched it I was calling BS but then I got to thinking that the Virtual Boy didn't sell very well so maybe there were large quantities of new VBs around.

I heard because they sold so horribly they decided to bury the unsold units in a New Mexico landfill.

Oh, wait.

My wife even knew to call BS on the 500 VBs found recently crap. I wont hold them trying to make money against the pawn shop, but putting this mis-information on TV is uncalled for.

Sure... reality TV has always been the bastion of quality programming with reliable informative value.

Seriously, I don't have enough hours in the day to do what I want as it is... where do people find the time to watch any of this crap, and why would they choose to? And why would anyone give a crap about these idiots and what they have to say?

All these shows do is provide a list of idiots in the world suitable for involuntary sterilization. And if you're offended by that statement, that means you are one of the idiots.

What is wrong with the sellers voice. It sounds like he's trying to imitate a rock DJ or something. :?

Too funny akator!

Imagine if television sets were capable of sending out radiation that sterilizes certain viewers. For instance... Oprah, The View, Springer, Maury, MTV or the country channel. When it comes to accidental spawning, too bad the opposite seems to be the case with most of these viewers. :ponder: :rolling:

Yeah this is a common problem with VBs and its not an easy fix either. I have seen some tutorials to fix it that require you to dissolve something with acid. Its a problem with the right or left ribbon cable I believe.

I hate those annoying annotations.
But just a quick reminder;
Be happy that he did get a normal price for a semi broken system, because all those viewers that have a system back home, otherwise would have put a lot of them on ebay for a really stupid overrated prices.
