Hi all,

My Midway Bump N Jump needs a chip. The "CPU 222" as it is labeled on the schematics is an 8049 processor (obscure little masked ROM processor chip). I have garbage on the screen and when I swapped it with a working one from another boardset it worked 100% (that chip was labeled 8249). I tried ordering two new 8049's from Jameco and it puts the same garbled junk on my screen the dead chip has. Eh, so much for that idea.

Now I am looking for vintage stuff...It is a 40 pin DIP standard chip. The numbers are 8049 and then below a C10707-2, no brand markings like Intel or TI. If you have a dead Bump N Jump I would be eternally grateful for you selling me the chip/board. Funny enough, I bought a board from somebody; that's how I diagnosed this chip problem. Their board was DEAD, I fixed it and hoped I could get mine going too....as it is now theirs works (returned it) and mine is still dead!

Anybody?

Here's the chip, not easy to read the numbers but a pretty standard thing I would think. The chips I ordered fit the description, thought maybe the processor speed varied between the one I had and the one I bought.

Thanks for any input you have.
