Is this adapter compatible with any Atari 2600 homebrew games? Or do they not work?

I don't see why it wouldn't be compatible. The VCS Adapter is basically a self-contained 2600 system that plugs into a 5200 and uses its RF and power supply.

If a 2600 homebrew works in a 2600, it should work in a VCS Adapter.

Is the VCS adaptor literally a 2600? Not that I would want to do this, but in theory could someone figure out a way to put AV jacks on it, give it power and use it as a standalone VCS?

Or just mod the 5200 for av. And put the guts in a smaller case. No need to mod the adapter.

I'm not sure you understood what he was talking about. He's wondering if, for shits and giggles, the VCS adapter could be made into a working standalone VCS. He's not interested in the 5200 at all.

Exactly, more just as a goof, just was wondering if it's possible.
