I plan on doing an AV mod to my Super Video Arcade tomorrow, and I'm curious about the RF shielding. Would removing the shields completely compromise the physical stability of the motherboard or is it OK to leave them out? I'm going to have to remove them in order to perform the mod and I know it's going to be a royal PITA to solder them back on.

Not well. It would display a really staticy screen for a couple of seconds and then it faded away. I then discovered that the power ribbon cable had partially disintegrated, so I tried it replacing it with some wires. Now it doesn't even work at all and I'm looking to replace it with an INTV II. I will be trying the AV mod again though.
