What would we say is the average going price for a Jaguar core unit with a controller, RF adapter and power supply?

I have an extra (3rd) Jaguar unit that I would like to sell in order to get a C64 and disk drive.
I would happily trade it for these items however I don't know what anything is worth. Including the C= items.

Thanks!

I would pay $25 (but then again I'm cheap)

Yeah, I might pay $30. I think mine cost around there, with a copy of White Men Can't Jump included.

So it would be about equal value to the C64 computer. Then I would need to get a disk drive / cables....

Thanks... that's what I was looking to know.

laughing my ass off, dont listen to these lowballers!

If you look on ebay you will see that a Jaguar system with controller and hookups typically sells for $60-90 with shipping included...

If you put it on ebay for $30 plus $15 shipping it will sell in like 5 minutes, mark my words. ;)

I think these estimates are a bit out of date. I haven't watched the Jaguar market closely, but from my intermittent price checks, it seems that Jaguar items have gone up in price considerably over the last year or two. $30 per console is what I might have reasonably expected to pay eight or ten years ago, but not anymore.

Seems they're going for $40-$70 or around there on eBay.

Well I did say I was cheap, and also have the patience to wait for the right price...

However looking at the recent prices on Ebay I would say $40 without a game sounds reasonable.

I'm cheap too. I'd never pay $50+ for a jaguar.

$35-45 is fair for just a base unit with no box. That's what I expect to pay if my console ever dies. I'd expect to pay much much more for a complete used base unit set. Upwards of $100+ is fair starting point in that case.

Typical price on ePay for a working system with power supply, an RF or AV cable, a controller, and maybe a common cart or two is about $50 US.

It hasn't been as low as $25 or $30 in years.

I think I paid for mine around $60 including S&H and came CIB even tho the box is beat up and came with tempest CI Beat up box. Was the 1st time I gambled on buying from someone on ebay that didn't have a pic and just a description. The console must of been barely used cos it came mint.

Nice! Sometimes you can get good deals if you take a risk on a shady auction that nobody else has the guts to bid on.

I bought a new sealed in box Jaguar that I thoroughly enjoyed opening (and playing!), I enjoyed it so much that I bought another sealed in box Jaguar.

Do you guys think a mint condition/sealed Jaguar will be worth any money in 20-30yrs?

I have no doubt, provided we as humans haven't destroyed ourselves yet. ;)

I say this because Jaguar prices seem to have been steadily rising over the years. Maybe not a huge jump each year, but it definitely costs more now to obtain one than it did when Atari went under.

Guess when Jag prices and interest went up? After the Angry Nerd did his Jaguar videos (2-3 years ago?)... ;) Hundreds of THOUSANDS of youngsters saw his vids, most of them knew jack nothing about the Jag and were all of a sudden interested. I noticed prices have steadily gone up bit by bit since then. The Jag CD in particular. 4 years ago you could get a working one for $100. Now a working one goes for about $200 total. Mint In the box with extra stuff approaching 300 (atleast 250)... Jag cart system 4 years ago maybe 30, now its atleast 50 or 60 for bare bones system etc.

You need to stop this. There appears to be this agenda with you of attempting to pump up the perceived value of Jaguar items for your own gain. I mean, your the guy trying to sell an unboxed Braindead 13 for close to $70 when that version was sold at a closeout price of $5 on ebay for years. If someone actually buys that from you I hope you feel good about yourself for completely ripping someone off. And a memory track for $42? God Damn.

Jaguars are not yet as valuable as you keep saying, Jaguar bare console with 2 games $29.99 eBay Auction -- Item Number: 320744315184. And another base console that sold for $40: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 270795803857. As an alert to new people interested in buying Jaguar, you do not have to pay extravagant prices for Jaguar stuff, not yet.

I got mine almost a year ago. It came with all the hook ups, one controller, CIB copies of AvP and Trevor McFur, Kasumi Ninja (cart only), and a sealed copy of Iron Soldier. I paid around $60 for everything. I would easily pay that still today (considering what I see CIB copies of AvP going for alone).

I got a good deal on a bundle when I was shopping but I would have paid upwards of $50 for just the Jag and hooks up. I seriously considered buying a new one from best-electronics originally which were going for a little over $100. Now that I am considering looking into getting a spare I find myself again mulling over the idea of buying a brand new one.

Look it is supply Vs Demand, if E-Bay has 20-30 people selling a Jag in the $30 price Range then you are going to have a hard time selling yours bare bones no game, on the other hand looking on E-Bay if their are very few selling at the moment you may get lucky, just start low and let the bidding begin, their are very few places to get a Jag, it is either E-Bay, or a couple of online shops(all of witch sell the Jag in the $100 range)so saying that $50 for a used one is out of line to keep me from searching for something that hasn't been made in 15 years, same on BrainDead 13, so what if it sold for $5 5 years ago, I want it now and if the cheapest I can find it is $50 then I will have to pay that or go without....years ago I could of got Astroids and ET outside of KayBee Toys in a box marked Take 1, Take 1 Free!!!, they couldn't stomake tossing them, but few were taking atvantage of them since nobody had a working 2600....now a days I could probably get $15 a cart, ("one mans junk is anothers Treasure")

The first auction you quote has no power supply, controller, or video cable. Those will cost at _least_ $10 a piece (plus shipping!), so that bargain $29.99 machine will cost $60 (minimum) to get running.

The second auction is a console with those items - but no carts. It has also gone unused for 10 years, and is sold "as is" with no guarantees it works! If you want to pick up a couple of common games to pay, those will again be at least $10 a piece plus shipping.

I don't know if kevincal has an 'agenda' but you really will need to pay in the $50-$60 range to get a working system with a couple of commons.

Give me a break. He enters the thread calling everyone a bunch of lowballers, then proceeds to say in various ways "OMG Jaguar stuff is uber collectible you need to pay out the ass for everything, get em while they're hot!!!" Did people suddenly forget sweetstuff4u or what? Price jacking used to be looked down upon here and I'm going to call it out when I see it.

Personally I'm not into the Jaguar so I can watch the value of my collection grow, in fact I wish that prices would stay steady and low so that more people would be willing to give the Jaguar a try. It already has a bad enough reputation, so hyping it and farcically trying to give the appearance of higher rarity than is the case to increase prices will only shy people away from the machine. The fact is that you can get a Jaguar bare console for much less than $60 if you just have a bit of patience.
