I downloaded the emulator and am trying to play 5200 games.

I purchased the Logitech F310 Gamepad. The gamepad works fine with some games, but not all.

For instance, it does not work with Gorf or Frogger, but works with any Pacman types. With Gorf and Missile Command, it only seems to allow three positions for shooting, right side, left side and center. There is no fine tuning for anywhere on the screen. It is only extreme left, extreme right, or center. Yet, Galaxian aiming is as smooth as silk. Frogger just twitches and faces down only, and will not hop.

Are there any special settings I should use in the joystick options? I have clicked and unclicked so many boxes, I don't remember what the default settings out of the box were.

Any suggestions?

Just a guess, but the games you mentioned require an analog stick or trackball
Download the 800xl versions to play with a digital stick

download a program called joy to key. in the atari 800 win plus set controls for number keys. in joy to key assign the number keys to the controller.
I did this because DEFENDER is one of my favorite 5200 games and this was the only way I could get to fire and use smart bombs without having
to use the keyboard.
