I've tried tracking down where I could find samples of arcade game sounds. For example, the sound in Tempest when you finish a level and "fly" to the next one. Or the extra life sound from Centipede. I'm not sure such a stash of samples even exists but is there an easy (or even semi-easy) or straightforward way to get specific, repeated sounds from popular arcade games? I got it into my head that it would be cool to replace some of my computer's stock sounds (login/logout, bell, etc.) with something more recognizable and liked but I've hit dead-ends on Google. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have any specific needs I may be able to make some files for you.

I guess I'm looking for samples much like the ones on this page. Specifically like the Black Widow samples (at the bottom).

If your offer for making specific sounds is still there, for Tempest (which nobody seems to have) I would like samples for firing, the Super Zapper, player death, enemy death and the boost to the next level. For Centipede I would like the samples for firing, the flea dropping down the screen, the spider walking around, player death and the extra life. For Defender I would like the samples for firing, start of player life (warping into frame), alien death, player death, hyperspace and mutant appearance. I'd really appreciate it if you could make those but I understand if it's not feasible. I'm very surprised that something like this doesn't already exist.

I can do that. I'll get working on it tonight.

So you want each single sound on its own file? Or maybe all the sounds from one game on one file? I have all the editing software I need, so whichever you want I can do it.

Each as a separate file, the easier for me to deal with them if that's not a problem. Thanks!
