Ok First off Greetings My name is Johnodd4 I'M New here so i will get down to it

I purchased a Atari lynx from a nice shop called pink gorilla located in the china town district of seattle washington.

What i have is this:

Atari lynx Version 1 (or big birtha as many people call it.

The Atari lynx lynx com cable

The atari lynx Car adapter (non-functional unknown why????)

The atari lynx AC Adapter (non-functional unknown why?????)

The Atari lynx soft case for the all the games and accessories.

Sun visor for the atari lynx

One game will purchase more called S.T.U.N. Runner

Now i have several questions.

1. As you saw the AC Adapters both for car and for home where included but not functional and i don't know why i plug them in and nothing and no it cannot be the lynx because it powers up just fine on batteries no problems.

2. Has anyone tried to use a screen magnifier on the Atari lynx i am looking for a screen replacement shield i was thinking about making one out of a magnified rear window stick on for cars but if there is one that i could mod it would be better also does it work??? is it worth Doing....

3. has anyone tried to make a lan based adapter for the lynx for lynx com don't get me wrong i don't want to connect it to the internet just lynx to lynx and the link com cable is kinda flimsy.

those are my primary questions.

1. Might be that the socket of the Lynx is damaged then? Sounds mor elikely to me then. Tho from what I know this is not a common fault.
2. Take care that you get the correct sun visor - the one for the LYnx 2 is of a different size.
If you need a replacement shield ask here on the forum. I´m also sure there are many mailorder dealers out there who, unlike Atari themselves, still have Lynx spare parts for very cheap.
3. No. Why flimsy? - However, I haven´t comlynxed myself yet but FWIK there is no other option than the cable.

All the best and have fun with your Lynx :)

Welcome to the forums. The screen cover on your lynx looks very scratched up. Still, keep an eye on ebay, maybe you can get an untested unit with a good shield for cheap to swap.

Thank you!!!

There is another temporary repair technique that i will post here for everyone with a lynx it does repair the scratched screen nicely on devices from the 80's and 90's like the lynx and game gear and turbo express of which i own all of them.
