Our game this round is Pole Position. We will be playing 3 races on the Malibu track: 2 laps, 4 laps, 8 laps for combined score.
Do not use the wrong lap setting or you'll actually hurt your own score. Example: Using 8 lap setting and using score from 4 laps completed shorts you the bonus for finishing the race. Emulation is fine, except if used on PAL settings as timer runs slower. Pics are great, but not necessary. Use whatever control style you wish and above all, HAVE FUN!

Bonus point will be given for each top score of each race!

Are we using the qualifying score or the race score ?

Qualify is part of the race, so use it. Run qualify + race for each race run.

FYI: For those who don't know, you have to press reset after game boots up to be able to change the track/lap settings.

I have to break out the instruction book to figure out how to set up all these options. I just played a few default races and did pretty well. I haven't played this version much, but I rather enjoy it. It controls well and I seem to crash a lot less in this version than the 2600, arcade or 7800 PP2.

My basement flooded because of hurricane Irene. My whole classic gaming world was down there, so everything is in disarray for the moment. I'll have to let my 1st set of scores stand and hope to be able to join in the next round!

Wow, that's the same situation I'm in right now! Really hope you didn't lose anything of value. I was lucky that the flooding was caught before anything other than carpet padding was damaged, but I did have to move all the Atari systems, 4 arcade cabinets, and numerous other items to the other side of the basement so I could rip out the soaked carpet padding, dry the carpet, and replace the padding. Damn broken sump pump... I'm going to be sure to thoroughly test the new pump before every major storm after this incident! I'm hoping to be able to set the 5200 back up this weekend, and maybe get some more Pole Position plays in.
