I just installed the update to the orgin client and after agreeing to the lengthy "terms" (which I didn't read) I certainly expected something like this from EA:

http://www.destructo...et-209745.phtml

I uninstalled it and will play Mass Effect 2 on my Xbox 360 and they can keep the free downloabable PC version I got from them last year.

Let's just hope it's not as resistant to uninstalling as SecuROM and other such things. You know, where it's still technically there even if it is officially uninstalled.

I can't say I'm surprised. I won't be surprised if they suddenly do some eula change and push out a "fix" for the abusive nature of their software. I still won't ever install it however, as all eula's contain clauses of "may be changed at will without notification of the user." and EA is certainly the kind of company in my mind that will suddenly reintroduce this shit once the storm has passed - hoping nobody notices it the next time. (repeat until finally they get away with it.)

Look, it's more garbage from EA. Of course, this trend is just going to continue. I can't wait until companies start monitoring my bathroom and snack breaks.

Good lord, I'm glad I opted to buy a physical copy of TOR.
