Im looking for copies of the schematics for the TIA chip that are more readable than the copies that can be found in the archives section. Ive tried asking Best electronics if they have them however the response I got was that they might have them in the micro film records he has, but the cost of locating them then converting them to paper would not be wothwhile for him to do. Sooooo close!

Also in the "stella gets a new brain" cd, there are png files of the trace routes of the chip (hard to describe.. like layouts of where the machine should etch the circut lines in several layers) but the first one is all blurred out. anyone have good copies of these too?

Most people are content to collect games, I've decided my goal is to collect information.

Your best bet is to use the ones here. Use the larger ones, and load them (one sheet at a time) into a graphics program that can zoom in and out so you can view the entire sheet at once if you wish. Then you can use the graphics program to adjust the brightness and contrast, or the light and dark "cutoff levels," to get a clearer image. Once you've done that, you can scale each sheet down to a size that suits you.

Where are those files? Which version of the CD is that? I have the original Stella CD, and would like to see what you mean.

By the way, I'd been thinking about *drawing* a new set of clean schematics, including animated GIFs showing the flow of data, etc.-- but that was before all the cease-and-desists. Now I wonder whether Atari would get peeved if I were to do that?

On the Visual2600 page, they have pictures of the TIA internals. Visual 2600 TIA They state that they will release the code soon, which should include the netlist of the TIA.

I'd like to take you up on that offer, however do they suffer from the same flaws as the online copies? On the online copies there are trace lines that are fuzzed out. Like when a copy machine runs low on toner.

Thanks, but I'm assuming that is the re-issue CD. Mine doesn't have that folder. :(
