I'll probably pass. I have my favorite, MK2 on PS3 and I have Ultimate Mortal Kombat on the 360.
Just don't think I need this.

Finally, a Mortal Kombat game I'm interested in!

Been a long time since an MK game has come out that I'd want to purchase.

Let's see...I have MK1, MK2, MK3, Ultimate MK for Sega Genesis, MK1 for Sega CD, MK2 for 32X, MK Trilogy for PS1, MK3 for Sega Saturn, MK1 for Plug'n'Play TV, Midway Arcade with MK games for PS2, MAME emulator on XBOX with all 3 MK...well I think that's it. So I'm pretty much covered.

I really like the 2D MK games, I'm not into the 3D versions. I do have the MK vs DC Universe for PS3 it's not bad.

Damn, just found out this is a download release. For some reason I thought it was a retail package release. Ah well.. At least it's going to be $10, so people say. I'll still snag it. :)

I have a thousand copies of these games. :P
Not sure I want to buy these again.

Can anyone say what else is featured besides achievments\trophies?

Personally I would love to see a one button fatality "cheat" like I've seen on older versions of the trilogy. (Cant recall which console had that. PS1 maybe....)

So, did anyone buy this yesterday? I'm curious to hear your thoughts. I snagged it myself. Overall the ports are great, however, my experience with the online portion was terrible. In all three games it was extremely laggy, even though the opposite opponents also had a good-to-great connection. I thought maybe it was my own connection, so I went to Third Strike to test it out, and no, it wasn't me--That game played very smoothly online.

I'm tempted to get this, even if I'm not really a fan of download-only games.

I like how they use UMK3 and basically pretend that it is MK3, sweeping away the original MK3. I wonder if this edition of UMK3 is faithful to the arcade release, or if they actually completed the game and presentation like they originally promised when UMK3 was first announced.

I've had some time with the actual arcade cabinet locally and the XBLA version looks like the real deal to me.

I'm a little disappointed the original MK3 isn't in there with it. UMK3 is great, don't get me wrong--definitely the ideal version to an extent--but I liked how certain stages appeared a lot more often in MK3. Some of them very rarely pop up in UMK3.

Download only kills this. IF you are going to cater to the old guys that are nostalgic, you need to do it ALL THE WAY.

Well, for ten bucks I got it off of Xbox Live, and it was worth the purchuse. I have the SNES and Genesis versions of these games, but the arcade versions are way better and the online play is a nice feature, even if I suck at the game. :P

If it was on a disc I was spend money on it. I have these games on my MAME machine so why pay to download them to my 360 as well? It was looking really cool until I couldn't have a box for it, then it was just more crap on the list of downloads that could have been cool.

Disagree. Download is ideal for stuff like this. Who wants to pay $50-$60 for a disk version of this when a $15 DL gets the job done? The point is to play the game not look at a plastic disk. For classics like this DL only is ideal IMHO.

What does a disc and packaging cost a studio to produce? $5 perhaps? Why do they keep making this decision for the customer? Me, I would pay for certain titles on disc. I'm an old guy. I fart and 10 years passes. I don't want to be logged in, online, my 360 HD still kickin' to enjoy Hydro Thunder, or After Burner, Death Smiles 2, years from now. Tell me if they put an option on their websites with a 6 - 8 week turn around for physical discs @$50 they wouldn't sell out pre-orders and make just the right number where they didn't have overstock. Why not cater to everyone? In this market the morons are the ones making the choices FOR their customers, instead of taking the money being offered. They could have your $15, and my $50. Instead they just get your money.

A physical edition would of been cool, but since it was only ten bucks, I did not mind a DL. If it was more, I would not of D/L'd is.

I would have been happy to pay $20 for a disc-based release.

They dont want used market on those games, they know you'll say "Hey it's only $10, I can get that", with out realizing that in few years it may not work at all, especially DRM games. Next time they will re-release the games on PS4 or Next Xbox and make the money again.
