My 3 year old granddaughter was playing around with the keyboard the other day while MAME was running and now the TAB button doesn't do anything! It still works for an older version. Any ideas?

Sounds like the mapping got changed for MAME. Do you use a front end loader? What OS is it running on?

...XP SP3, standard loader that came with it. Should I do a "default" reset?

I would backup your settings but yeah my guess is that could very well fix you problems.

If it's a mapping issue, the quickest and most painfree way would be to delete "default.cfg" in your CFG folder.
The downside is that you need to remap any exotic/non-standard mapping.. but it should work by just doing that.
