Man, Atari is getting some hate in their Facebook page. Apparently, people don't think the idea of having RCT for the 3DS is a good idea. They wanted a "true sequel".

I guess they're afraid RCT is going to meet the same fate as SimCity, and be "toned down" for the casual market. That's the only explanation I can think of for this nonsense.

In my eyes this is one of the issues with the 3DS. The strongest titles available seem to be games that have been played already.
Granted 3D has been added, but if you just rehash a lot of old games people aren't going to get very excited.
Atari should know this, look at the 5200.
I'll admit a roller coaster game on the 3DS does sound intriguing.
Still I don't blame a person for not wanting to repay good money to replay a game they've already played....3D or not.
That might be what you are seeing on Atari's Facebook pages and in my opinion it's a valid argument.

Toned down for the casual market? I thought this was a "casual" game? I don't think I can tell anymore.....

I think I worded that badly.

Remember what happened after SimCity 4 was released? The sequels/spinoffs we got were SimCity DS, SimCity Creator, SimCity iOS, and that horrendous piece of garbage that was SimCity Societies.

I think they're afraid RCT is going meet the same fate.

If I can ride the coaster's in glorious 3D I'm there dude.

As for simcity, I hated all but the very first one. They should have remade that on a modern handheld. Same with lemmings and populous. Why is it that so many games are getting rehashed to death but truly great games from way back don't see anything?
