I love these monitors but when I bought mine the shipping was closer to $50 IIRC (Washington to Ohio).

Weight and zip code may help any potential buyers (using usps.com) Fedex Ground may also be cheaper.

Maybe Albert would want it (he is in TX) for any future shows.

Thanks for posting this and taking a price reduction on account of the cost of shipping. These are becoming more and more rare and as time marches on, will become extremely rare soon. I'd have bought it in a heartbeat had we lived nearby. I only have one 1702 and its case is cracked. Gorgeous picture and sound though! :)

I bought one at this "Computers for Kids" yardsale that I go to now and then. It was $10 and they had more but I just took the one. I wish I took at least one other but they're all gone now.

Sorry for the bad video picture (on bottom), but the monitor does have a nice picture.
I am asking $10.00, plus shipping.

:)

I would take it, if I didnt have to deal with shipping. Just wish I knew when I would be in Big D. If you drive down to Houston for any reason, bring it down. If someone beats me and pays shipping, i'll let them have it.

Does yours look anything like this?

Bought this along with a C64 and 1541-II through eBay. The guy packed the screen facing the outer edge of the box with no packing. Plus, UPS can be rough on a package. I got a full refund and got to keep everything, though. Collector's dilemma: free 1702 with a busted case.

"Computers for Kids" yardsale

What is that? That sounds very cool indeed! :)

Its a local union run charity that takes donations of both money and computers, parts, etc to help buy and build computers for underprivileged kids. Part of the money making process is a monthly indoor yardsale. There are sometimes vintage video game and computers here. I found a Tandy Coco 1 and 2 (boxed), a boxed TI/99, the aforementioned 1702 monitor, Tac-2 joysticks, and all kinds of other little odds and ends. An Atari keypad controller, sealed Yars Revenge, some other things, can't remember.

This is the video where I found the 1702:

I actually took the camera inside once, its dark and dirty and there wasn't too much video game related on this trip but it'll give you some idea of what its like inside. LOTS of old PC's.

What are prices like? That place looks absolutely like HEAVEN to me. :lust: Tons of parts all over the place for tinkering and projects.....so much I could make out of all that stuff! I think between nathanallan and I we'd probably clean the entire joint out!

Prices are ok. I've gone up to the counter with a box of random parts, games, etc and it'll be $10 or $20. A boxed Coco or TI/99 was about $20 IIRC, monitors are about $10. Not sure about anything PC as I haven't picked up any of that. :)
