Apparently, either Ninty messed up or they felt sorry for us having to wait a day longer than Japan, as you are now able to download the 10 NES games onto your 3DS if your an ambassador.

Just go to the eShop, go to "Settings/Other", then go to "Your Downloads" and scroll down until you see the games. Then just click redownload for each game and you're ready to go!

Here's a few impressions I have:

Each game takes up about 30-34 blocks, so in total you'll need 300-340 blocks free to download all ten games.

The emulation is pretty much perfect. Because the NES has a resolution of 256 x 240, it fits perfectly onto the 3DS's 400 x 240 screen (no need for stretching the game). The games look very crisp, and run at full speed. The sound almost seems to be enhanced. I swear the opening Zelda theme on the original NES didn't sound that good.

What are you waiting for, 3DS Ambassadors? Get those game now!

Yeah, got 'em this morning. They do look alright, though I swear the title screen tune for Yoshi / Yoshi's Egg sounded better in other emulators & on the actual NES.

Too bad they're mainly throw-away titles. :( Even Nintendo hasn't put out a sequel for Yoshi or Wrecking Crew since the early-to-mid 1990s, so c'mon... if you don't like them, Nintendo, then chances are we don't either.

I was just watching a video of someone downloading these games, one of the people I subscribe to on youtube. I love Balloon Fight, my favorite game on the NES.

Just FYI I don't think they came out "early" for us but rather, came out at midnight Sept 1, Japan time. So it would still be Aug 31 for the rest of the world.

:D

I did notice a lot of people not happy with how convoluted it is to actually download the game. Gotta go into eShop setup, scroll to downloaded, and redownload. ONE at a time!!! No easy batch download, a 1-in-10 package download, or anything.

Wow. They must have been trying to complain about something.

You should have seen the stink that people raised when 3DS price drop was announced, and someone suggested buying one just before the price drop, then going back to retailer for price adjustment, getting 20 free games for nothing. Most of the stink came from people who bought their 3DS too long ago for return or price adjustment.

One person got flamed into oblivion because he was happy that Urban Championship became available to download.

Unanimous complaint from most of Michigan: Detroit Lions still suck.

I had cheeseburger at McD's the other day and I complained because there were only 3 onion pieces on my cheeseburger. :D It was legit complaint, onion makes up flavor that is important to cheeseburgers.

People will find something to complain about, no matter how trivial it is.

Haha, what? It was made known that many do not care for the game, but nobody here was flamed, unless you are talking about elsewhere.

I personally think NES emulation on 3DS turned out a bit disappointing. Everything just looks too tiny. I prefer them streteched out on my modded PSP, better yet stretched out full screen on the tv via the real thing.

I'll be happier when I get the 10 free GBA games.

But even happier than that when all the good 3DS games come out by the holiday season.

They're stretched horizontally, not bad but I noticed it in the 2 games I tried last night:
  • In Donkey Kong Jr on the 2nd screen the 2nd chain (w/banana on it) looks fine, but the one just to the right of it is blurry.
  • In Mario World in the first screen after you start the game(the one w/black background that shows World 1-1, Mario X3) the first 1 is blurry the 2nd isn't.

1) It WAS sort of a pain in the ass to go through to download them one-at-a-time, in a convoluted method that I probably never would have guessed at myself, just to get approximately $1 worth of crummy NES games.
2) Nobody has any right to complain at McD's. It's McD's. You pay your dollar, you take your chances.

Heh sorry, I meant on another game forum. Specifically Gamefaqs.com The forum seems to be full of teen and pre-teen who weren't around when NES and SNES were still selling in major retailers.
