Just a quick question, it's probably one that's been asked a million times, but....

Handy has some screen zooms in it - does the 1X map to the actual size of the playing screen on a Lynx? I mean, is that the size the Lynx really is?

Thanks!

As taken from the Atari Lynx FAQ:

Screen: 3.5" diagonal (3.25" x 1.88" approx.)

In general I think it does not. It maps the individual LCD cells to individual pixels on the screen (1 cell == 1 pixel). So, depending on your actual screen size and resolution on your system, it will have very different sizes. Just imagine your screen at 640*480 and having 160*102 pixels (Lynx) in Handy. That's almost a 1/4 of the screen sizes in both directions. For a 1920*1080 HD resolution it will be 1/10 of the screen, so much smaller.

Yeab, in all honesty I should have worked that out myself. :D

I run my screen at home on 1900 X 1200, and at 1X the thing is tiny, so it got me concerned. I'm considering getting a Lynx, and I used the emulator to see if the games were any good. Have to say, they blew me away - if only more arcade conversion had been done for it!
