I have a modded 2600 4SW so I'm not whining, but has anyone else had a problem running Berzerk or Berzerk VE on the 7800? My old copy of regular Berzerk never ran on the 7800 either, but I thought the cart was bad. BVE runs great on my 2600 so I'm guessing there is an issue maybe?
Berzerk VE is Awesome sauce btw.
Anyone have any knowledge to drop on the subject?

I wonder if its a revision of the hardware or something. I'll drag out my extra 78 tomorrow and try it on that.

Berzerk is one of my favorite Atari 2600 games, Ive had it and my 7800 since 1984 and I've never had a problem. Not once. But I don't have VE :|

My brother and I got our 7800 from the Sears catologue for Christmas the same year we got the Nes back in 86 and I don't think I've ever gotten Berzerk to work on it. Well I'm going to hook up my spare and see what happens.

Nope, same thing on both 78's. Just some noise and wavy mess on the screen. At least that means its not something wrong with my systems... I'm just very unlucky with Berzerks. It works fine on my 2600.

A171 and A177 serial numbers on the systems. One has expansion port and the other just has the hole for one. I'm wondering if the pins don't line up just right or if its a real compatibility issue.

When Berzerk VE wouldn't work on my 7800 it turned out that my Power Supply was dying (other games worked fine oddly). Might want to check that.

ok.. got it to work on my 78 with the expansion port. Had to shift the cart around a little to find the sweet spot. The other has a LHE mod in it. I'll try swapping the plugs later and see if it makes a difference.

Plugs didn't help onmy modded system, but it never played the original Berzerk either. I still think its a compatability issue on that one.

Ok, my new copy of Berzerk works. My Berzerk VE and my extra original copy still don't even though all three work in my 2600. I think my head shall explode. Whatever, I can now kill me some robots... all that matters.
