I was checking out stuff online and someone mentioned how the controllers were changed at some point before the Intellivision II was released. They mention how the controller went from no lip at the top of the controller to having one added at some point. So then it got me to check the serial number... mine being 40,000 seemed pretty high but may be considered a rarer system. I have it in the box with styrofoam pieces etc.

I'm just trying to expand my knowledge of the Intelly. Any info is appreciated!

Pics? There was a style change to the box as well. 40000 would still be a pretty low serial number if it's the Mattel Intellivision 1 that you have as opposed to say a Tandy or Sylvania/GTE version

Here's some pics I took of it... I'll have to get another shot of the back of the unit showing the serial number...

These pics are brought to you by the 512MB SD card I found when I was going to the post office to ship your stuff cmart! lol Otherwise, I'd still be using the other camera. This camera is much better. :)

Should I post a pic of the bottom of the unit?

Yup, it's an early unit, the box is another clue. First of all, it's the bigger sized box, which is what the early ones were. Plus if you look at the games listed as available and coming soon you can see only the first ten were out at the time the unit was made, and it also advertises the Keyboard Component as well which obviously didn't come to pass.
Glad I could assist in you finding the SD card! Lol!
