"Swamp-Owned"

...used to describe the terrible physical condition of many used video games. Coined this weekend while I was looking through Vintage Stock and noted (not for the first time) that N64 games were always in poor condition, even compared to older systems like the SMS and 2600. Either the games just weren't built to last or, apparently, the N64 was very popular amoung people who lived in swamps. Within 15 minutes, I'd applied it to games from other systems as well, making it a rather useful descriptor, IMO.

Well, since the N64 used carts when the other systems of the same time period did not, and because the Nintendo brand was identified by many as "family friendly," it actually makes sense that the carts would be beat up because of children.

Swamp Owned has a nice ring.
