hey guys, so I thought I'd take a picture of my collection, I'm actually getting 2 more apparently brand new games very soon that I won on ebay so its not complete but I will update when I get them. here is a list of the games I have:

AVP, Cannon Fodder, Cybermorph, Dino Dudes, Doom, Iron Soldier, Hover Strike, Kasumi Ninja, Protector SE, Raiden, Rayman, Super Burnout, Syndicate, Tempest 2000, Theme Park, Wolfentstein 3d, Zero 5, Zool 2

the games on the way are Brutal Sports Football and Missile Command.

Any games you guys think I should definitely pick up? Unfortunately I don't have a Jaguar CD drive yet but will hopefully pick one up soon!!

look forward to hearing your thoughts, heres the photo:

Looks good with Protector and all. Have you looked in loading amateur games with it with the BJL hookup?

Also, you need Bubsy. :P

BJL is hardware that allows your Jaguar to be used for developing, and also running demos and free games.

ANother choice would be Skunk, which also does similar things.

It's not cheap but I would suggest Worms, one of my favourites on the Jag.
But then just because I (or anyone else) likes and therefore recommends a particular game that does not mean you will. If possible I would suggest you take the list of suggestions to Retro Revolution (Chelmsford) or R3play (Blackpool, where this years JagFest UK will be present) as there is a good chance you will be able to try someones copy before you buy.

all those games say KA on them, I forgot about that rating. That seems like something Sega would have done.

That is a nice Jaguar collection.

You should try to get a CD unit when you can.... then you can burn and play Downfall. :)
Fun little game.

Cheers man, to be honest I am just pretty tempted now to say screw it and buy one on my credit card!! I think I'm gonna get one without the box etc, as I don't have the box for the original jag anyway!! I take it I need two powersupplies plugged in to get it to work right? IE: one for the base unit and 1 for the cd? Same as the Mega Cd? Whats Downfall like?

looks interesting, might have to give it a go. So if I get a CD drive for the Jag is the retail title list limited to just Battle Morph, Hoverstrike and World Tour Racing in terms of actual half decent titles? I've been looking and none of the following really interest me:

Baldies
Blue Lightning
Dragons Lair
Highlander

I really don't fancy getting Myst or Primal Rage, Iron Soldier 2 appears to have disappeared off the map, I would've liked to have got that, Robinsons Requiem sounds ok but again I can't find that anywhere either and I really can't justify paying $80 for games of this age, I really wanna get Pitfall for Jag and maybe that Super Rally driving game but cannot justify the prices!!

Anyway, if I get the CD drive am I able to try these games out at all?

The older games, Myst , Primal Rage and Iron Soldier 2, I am pretty sure you can download and burn them to CD-R and play. I have the 1st two but my copy of Iron Soldier 2 is CD-R. :)

Anything newer like the Requiem game I think is still for sale. I'd like to try it myself but I can't afford $80. It is not that I can't. I just can't justify the asking price. $80? wow...

That's not something I'd brag about, considering telegames still actively sells Irons soldier 2 and members of eclipse belong to these forums. Not to mention Telegames was one of the biggest supporters of the Jag (and Lynx) after atari abandoned them, why would you encourage reducing their sales ;)

eh, I thought blue lighting was okay... didn't really play it much until the recent buzz about soulstar (similar type of game). I liked it enough to play though a few levels, but haven't picked it up since.

I would love to buy iron soldier 2, if i can see it for a reasonable price (and assuming i get a jag cd drive!) I definitely will, but at the moment the prices on ebay are offensive

That's how it is for all of the late Telegames releases, unfortunately. Even Towers 2, not one that a lot of people like it seems, goes for a lot of money. :(

Just go for the cart version if you come across it. I prefer not messing with the CD as much as posible.

How so? I have Iron Soldier, the first one, but I thought 2 was only on CD, like Battle morph is an improvement over cybermorph on the cd drive as well, right?

Not bragging, it just true. And for the money I'm guessing they want, I sure don't feel bad. Also, true.

Is Telegames in UK the same company as was here in the US? If I remember right they were in Texas? Many years ago I used to buy a ton of stuff from them. 7800 games and controllers. Turbgrafx stuff too. Got my TurboExpress from them. Then I remember the web page saying they no longer supported classics consoles or something like this...

Anyway, to the OP, the CD unit is worth getting just to try the cool homebrew stuff that is out or will come out!

Maybe I don't know a braggart when I see one anymore

I'm not even saying don't do it, just saying it benefits nobody to tell them "it's possible to steal things that you could otherwise buy new from the manufacturer." that generally applies to most situations. To assert that you have done it doesn't really add much.

Perhaps some CD burning instructions and passing on the information that "you can backup commercial games" would be sufficient ;) Anyway, that's all the droning from me on this lol... don't mean to preach but I can see i'm starting to :P

Yeah you are. As you can see by my reply to OP about Requiem, I didnt suggest downloading vs buying something for sale. In fact it was the opposite. Also my reply to you would suggest I didn't know IS2 was still for sale. So maybe you don't know what you see. Or just too quick to judge and hold yourself up high.

No where did I suggest "it's possible to steal things that you could otherwise buy new from the manufacturer." Your just another asshole quick to point a finger.

hold on there, I was actually responding to this part of the quote I quoted, which you wrote after I told you TG still sells IS2:

I don't think it's too hard to see what I was thinking. If you can't get ahold of Telegames UK (I think they're re-doing their site now), Songbird also back-orders the game and stocks Iron Soldier 2 as well (at least that's what the order page says).

I don't. I didn't know any better. Am I supposed to have a rush of guilt? I tried it once and don't even know where it is right now. My meaning is although I now know its for sale, I'm not rushing to, or will ever, buy it. I don't feel bad about it. Clear?

Its A holes like you that cause problems. You need to shake your finger at me because you know something I don't? In stead of just saying so you have to make this "better than thou" display and then put some thing like this : "it's possible to steal things that you could otherwise buy new from the manufacturer." : As if they were my words? I wish there was an emoticon with the middle finger... just for you.
