Will the system work with just the power adapter plugged in or does it need batteries too? Mine just beeps repetitively when I turn it on.

Power cord or batteries are fine you only need one or the other. The video cord may be bad. I just got done fixing up about 10 Telstars of different makes and models and replaced all the video out cords as they were fuzzy or bad. If it bees then it should work. Sound is transmitted through unit and not TV. All the units that beeded were working.

I found one of those in my fathers attic I use to play when I was a kid, it also beeps but no picture, I replaced the cord with one from a dvd player,but still no picture... I was wondering does the type of cord matter and if not do you know what else could be wrong?
