I haven't played Mario Kart in quite some time but still have the Mario Kart Channel installed on my Wii. I checked my Wii's Email today and found that I had received notice from Nintendo that a new Tournament was taking place and decided "What the hey.... let's give the game a spin once more".

For the next 90 min, I tried the Tournament track and had a TOTAL BLAST!! I tried it with the Wii-mote, then tried it with the Wheel... seeing if I could better my time using one method over another. I went back and did practice runs on other tracks and then came back into the Tournament track and tried some more.

I finally submitted my score and was surprised to find out that I wasn't all that far back from respectability, though I have a ways to go to catch the leaders.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else is still playing MK and if so, are you playing in any of the Tournaments?

i played the shit out of this game online with friends up until about a month ago. we switched to Worms Battle Islands, then realized that Worms Armageddon on the PC from 12 years ago is a better game. Luckily we all have XP systems and can run it.

anyway, as for MK i don't play online against strangers because there are cheats and hacks that allow permanent invincibility, ludicrous speeds, and just plain unfairness.

I play it from time to other, including it's less chaotic precessor for the GameCube. I yet have to get gold on all the 100cc and 150cc cups, but I have compleeted all the 50cc ones. However, lately I've not had too much time to play games due to Studies taking more time.

I've been wanting to play this current tournament tack, but I can't find my gamecube controllers since I moved!

Also, I wouldn't often play online, but I'd mainly focus on Time Trials.

It wouldn't do you much good if you found it. Tournaments are restricted to motion controls to keep the playing field even. :)

I don't disagree at all. I gave up playing online maybe a year ago because of all the hacked races I kept encountering.

But the Tournament is a blast as its just you against the track attempting to achieve the fastest time possible. Not sure if people are hacking their times and submitting them but all-in-all I had a great time trying my best.
