Can anyone recommend an alternative OS Rom that I can burn onto an eprom.
At this point I don't want to go down the multi OS route for simplicity and laziness
Can I just burn the eprom and put it in the xl, or do I have to do anything else?

I have a 600xl that the OS Rom has just died (whilst watching Neumen demo)
Can anyone recommend an alternative OS Rom that I can burn onto an eprom.

If you only want to have a single o.s. I'd never go for a non-Atari one. Sooner or later you'll run into compatibility problems when using an alternative o.s. (moved o.s. vectors, nonexistent parallel bus routines, conflicting key-combo's, etc...)
