..I have been contemplating the idea of them putting the Getaway: High Speed II on there. They would have to take out the ZZ Top tunes though unless they wanted to try to license them again (doubtful). If the tunes were gone, I'm not sure if I would still want to play it. I recently played the newest port of Crazy Taxi released (Dreamcast Collection/XBLA/Steam), and I was really turned off that Sega didn't get the original tunes licensed again. The vibe of the game was completely changed and it's just not the same.
Luckily, the 360 supports custom soundtracks. You can put Offpsring back into Crazy Taxi, and even if Getaway doesn't have funky-electro ZZ Top, you can either play it yourself or play anything else you'd like, like the Outrun soundtrack.
I think that would be a pretty ghetto fix for something like The Getaway where certain tunes are triggered in certain events, but you have a point regarding Crazy Taxi where the tunes are played in more of a jukebox-like manner.
Tunes triggered by events? I thought it just played La Grange until your last ball is sunk.
"La Grange" is the only ZZ Top tune in the game (if memory serves), but it was often interrupted by other tunes for different goals, awards, etc. Also, the game uses a chip-tune version of the song, given that it came out before CD-quality digital music was feasible in games. Personally I would also rather have the original music as it appeared in the game, responding to game events.
Well, aren't those more like 10-second jingles? Wouldn't they still be able to play those?
I'm not saying it'd be the greatest solution, just that I'd still play it if they couldn't get the same La Grange tune.
Didn't say they weren't... it's just that a cop's siren is less likely to be removed from the game for copyright reasons, so don't worry about your ten second jingles.

Of course, but if you had to play "La Grange" outside of the game, you would lose some of the immersion, because the main theme would continue to play when it should have stopped or paused for one of the other musical cues.
I agree, it wouldn't stop me from buying the game either, but between going without "La Grange" or playing it outside the game to try and recreate the original experience, I probably would actually just not play the tune. But the best outcome would be to have it in the game where it belongs, if they could get the licensing to do so.
They're saying 2 tables a month will be released. That combined with their promise of several years of support should be enough to get any Pinball Hall of Fame fan drooling. This could be a very impressive package when all is said and done.
I got excited about the upcoming Pinball Arcade so I went back and played Pinball Hall of Fame again for the 360 last night. Here are all the tables except for Jive Time which is still locked. Sadly, my game time is broadly split so I don't play pinball much. So I don't know exactly what I have to do to unlock Jive Time. Also, this is a quick play through each of the tables. I didn't do a lot of the cool things that each table offers (especially on tables like Medieval Nights and Tales of the Arabian Nights).
The videos are in 720P but unfortunately because it's Youtube, they were converted to 30 fps videos (Youtube doesn't allow 60 fps videos) which hurts the framerate and smoothness (since the game is 60 fps). Also, Youtube heavily compressed it so sorry for the compression artifacts. And lastly, my antivirus program kicked in for the weekly scan (the worst time to kick in! but then again, I shouldn't have been playing at 2am), and I didn't know until after I was done playing so there were dropped frames and sections in the videos. Gorgar, Space Shuttle, No Good Gofers, and Medieval Madness were most corrupted by the virus scan.
Watch in 720P fullscreen if you can!
There's a limit to how many vids I can post in a message so I left out Gorgar and Black Knight (can always add them at a later time or if someone is curious about them).
