Okay, been having this problem for a week. First tried to do it with Windows Media Center. Got all the info off the Xbox, the key and all. It would work, but was really sluggish. It took it over an hour once to find all the media on my PC, which was not that much (less than 50 files). Finally got it to work, good speed and all, then it kept disconnecting. I gave up on that after trying around 15 different fixes I found on the web. Yesterday, I was in a store, and mentioned to someone working in the store, and they said download Zune to my Xbox and to my PC. Tried it, worked like a charm. I was watching movies off my PC thru my Xbox 360 on my tv. All was good, till today, I get up and nothing. Xbox could not find my PC. Been fooling with it for a few hours, and nothing works. Tried some fixes on the web, none of them work. I can go into my network, and the PC and Xbox are both there............any one got a clue how to fix this?

I'm sure you've tried a few of the simple things but it seems like the easiet thing is overlooked.

Try a few of these:

Power down PC and 360
Check Network connections (Sometimes I have to reconnect the ethernet cord into my 360)
Check router and modem (Make sure you didn't change a code or added additonal firewall security)
Did you change your gamertag or settings on your 360
Check for Malware on you PC, Malware Bytes is a good one to use.
If you've updated windows try going back to a previous restore point

I'm sure others will chime in with more. Keep us updated on the problem.

are you using Windows 7? the networking is more solid than Windows XP.

use homegroups as well as static IP addresses for your PCs and 360s. use wired connections if possible.

check your firewall settings. are you using McAfee software? sticking to Microsoft Security Essentials should be plenty as a firewall solution.

Did it. Nothing. Checked for virus/malware as well....
No change to gamer tag or anything like that.

No Mcaffee, Have Micro Soft Security Essentials, I dont think it is the issue.I am using windows 7.
Wired Connection indeed works, but is not a solid solution.

It's easy to create a complete audio and video entertainment experience by connecting your computer, your Xbox 360 console, and your home theater system. By setting up everything to run on a wired or wireless home network, you can stream your Zune collection of music, videos, and pictures to your TV and stereo system using your Xbox 360. It's a seamless way to enjoy your Zune collection to the fullest, and you can control it all with the Xbox 360 controller or Xbox 360 Media Remote.

  • Verify that your Xbox 360 is connected to your home network.

    • From the Xbox Dashboard, go to My Xbox, System Settings, Network Settings.
If your Xbox is not connected to your home network, selectConfigure Network and follow the on-screen instructions.

  • Share your Zune media collection on your computer with your Xbox 360.

    • In the Zune software, go to Settings, Software, Xbox 360.

    • Select the media collections you want to stream to your Xbox (Music, Video, and/or Pictures).

    • Enter a name for your collection.

    • Choose whether to share your Zune collection with all or just the selected Xbox 360 console(s) on your home network.

    • Click OK.

  • Verify that media sharing is enabled on your computer.
If you are using a Windows 7 PC:

    Note
You need to have already set up a homegroup on your home network. For more about homegroups, see HomeGroup: recommended links.

• Open Control Panel, then under Network and Internet, click Choose homegroup and sharing options.
Or, click Start, enter "homegroup" in the search box, and then click HomeGroup.

    • Make sure the Stream my pictures, music, and videos to all devices on my home network check box is selected.

    • Click Choose media streaming options, verify that Xbox 360 is set to Allowed, and click OK.

    • If you made changes to your homegroup settings, click Save Changes. Otherwise, click Cancel to close Control Panel.
If you are using a Windows Vista PC:

    • Open Control Panel, click Network and Internet, and then click Network and Sharing Center.

    • Under Sharing and Discovery, check whether Media Sharing is on. If it is set to Off, click Change. In the Media Sharing dialog box, select the Share my media check box and click OK.
Restart your computer to update it with your changes.

  • Stream media to your Xbox 360.

    • From the Xbox Dashboard, go to My Xbox and select a media library (for example, select Music Library).

    • Under Select Source, select your computer's name. The computer name with a Zune icon indicates your Zune collection.
(If your computer is listed twice, the other item just links to the Windows version of that media library. Both computer links might contain the same items unless you manage Zune and Windows libraries separately.)

Yep thats how I set it up. It seems to be the same case with others as me, almost never works with WMC, will work for a day or so with Zune.

I gave up. Too much of a head ache to watch a few movies.
