You know, someone really should make a classic 2d style rpg for the Jag, something like Square did on the Super Nintendo. Or better yet, a Final Fantasy VII type game on the Jag CD. :) Both are possible.

Maybe Bethesda will port Skyrim to the JagCD?

Just as fucking likely to happen.

I always wished that Bethesda would of made a version of Daggerfall for the Jag. That would of rocked! I'll bet the Jag could of done that well. :)

Possibly :) The full game is available for download from Bethesda, I'm going to have to give it a play when I get a chance.

Yeah I grabbed it a while ago. I am running it on a 98se machine. Having some trouble though, it keeps asking for a CD after I go to run it I have not had the time to work out that kink yet.

Depending on your opinion of what is an RPG there is also American Hero and Eerievale ( http://blog.eerievale.com/ )
Note the right of the two videos on the Eerievale media page is running on the Jag, I don't think the one of the left is the Jaguar version.

Ya i checked out Eerievale and played through the demo seems to be a nice smooth running demo thus far.I would hope to see this actualy completed aswell some of these projects that i am reading about are great and i will love to donate to the cause it is just donating is onething actual progress is another. This is why i asked about any rpg type games in the works for the jag.Seems i will be donating to the Eerievale project as i think this will be one of the many games that will see the light of day.The Owl project seems to be at a standstill from what i have read. Many ppl seem to be moving foward with projects as for me i wont buy the BJL or dev kits becouse i know nothing about programming but i can offer my support in donations for these title god knows the jaguar needs more of them.Like Kevincal siad i would absolutly love to see a 2d rpg game run on the jaguar in any event thx for the information all, and i hope to see things with Eerivale come to life soon.

You know? For someone that just posted a post telling someone else to "Try Posting Something Positive", you sure are very negative all the time. :-o

On topic. The Jaguar would be a pretty cook system for a nice RPG. The system surely needs one as it seems that's one genere that the fans that are still here have asked for and never gotten. Closest you'll get is Towers II. This and the Bash and Brawler genre really got left behind on the Jaguar.

I dunno, it would appear to me, using my eloquently long words and rambling in a mysterious, but possibly incoherent and ludicrous way, that actually being responsible for making new games for a 20 year old dead system could, in some small way, perhaps, and verily, be considered something of somewhat a constructive and, dare I say it, yes, I dare, positive thing to do.

What have you done recently?

Q: What do Jaguar RPG's and that picture of a bigmac have in common?

A: The end product you actually get never looks as nice as the promise :)

Well, up until the magazine was taken off the market without warning from our editor, I was doing reviews and column work for Classic Video Gamer Magazine. I personally never had the pleasure of reviewing one of your games, however, a review was done in the magazine of Superfly, I believe and we gave it rave reviews. Still working on the Jaggy the Jaguar strip too, so yeah, I have done some stuff. I never once said anything about your ability to make games. Never been an issue with me. I was just commenting on the fact that for someone that calls someone out about being positive, it's kind of scary how negative he can be. Just a reminder of said comment is all.

LOL, sorry, didn't mean to frighten you with my 2-week old post, it must have taken you that long to get over it & pluck up the courage to reply. I call out Jag_Slave for drama each and every time I see him trying to infest these forums with it.

Want fries with that?

Well, it is your fault for adding the Authentication checks to the skunkboard, else they wouldn't need to burn eeproms :P

I don't believe I ever did "argue" - I said I thought that was why Raiden didn't work, you said it wasn't (and then proved it), and I said "oh well, I was wrong"

But if you'd like to argue, feel free. If it floats your boat.

Atari & RPGs. Pick one. Really, I think the only RPGs that existed for any Atari platform were for the 8 bit & ST. Those were done by companies not by Atari. Adventure doesn't count.

Yep, there's few borderline titles that come close on one or two counts, but nothing I can think of (off the top of my head) that really has enough of the necessary ingredients like character customisation and classes, multiple weapon/magic specialities and upgrades/other item/inventory trinkets and armour and so on, exp/leveling, story quests and sub-quests, battles with at least some tactical elements, etc... basically there's got to be lots of numbers involved ;-) Adventure games are often much more superficial and lack the depth RPG fans crave instead of just the exploration, adventuring and puzzle-solving. RPGs should really let you play the game again as a different class or in another different way somehow and leave you with with a chance of a different experience and a different outcome, then they're living up to the name.

We need to lock you in a room with Dungeon Master :) It has most of what you describe.. that or possibly Captive, two of my fave dungeon crawlers on the ST. I did like Bloodwych on the ST too, but snappier than Dungeon Master and two player split screen options too!
